7 reasons why you should book tickets to see The Mousetrap at The Floral Pavilion

Advertorial

Everyone loves a murder mystery and The Mousetrap has got to be one of the best.

It’s on at the Floral Pavilion in New Brighton until Saturday this week, so you’ll need to get hot footing it there for tickets for this fabulous and famous whodunnit.

And here are 7 reasons why you’ll be glad you did…

Single Seat Special – half price single seat tickets

Floral Pavilion

There’s nothing to stop you going on your own if your other half is busy or your mates have all got plans. In fact, it can be one of the best ways to see this production so you’ve got no-one whispering in your ear and you can concentrate on all the clues. Better still, if you book a single seat you get 50% off, so it’s a bargain to boot! Just to note, when booking a single seat, the available seats will be coloured red.

The world’s longest-running play

Floral Pavilion

It’s hard to believe it’s been running for 70 years. The Mousetrap premiered at Theatre Royal Nottingham in 1952 and toured the UK before opening in the West End where it continues its record-breaking run at St Martin’s Theatre. The iconic thriller’s 70th anniversary tour also opened in Nottingham in September 2022, and continues to travel, marking its milestone by visiting more than 70 theatres, including all the cities it originally went to. And it’s as good as it ever was.

This thrilling West End production is THE genre-defining murder mystery from the best-selling novelist of all time

TA35AM Agathy Christie Memorial in London

Agatha Christie is the best-selling fiction writer of all time with her novels having sold more than two billion copies and she is particularly famous for her detective novels and characters she created, like Hercule Poirot and Miss Marple. She was a master of intrigue which The Mousetrap has in bucketloads, and with its great storyline and plenty of drama and intrigue, it still has audiences on the edges of their seats.

There’s a superb cast for the iconic murder-mystery on tour

The Mousetrap

While you’ll be engrossed in the drama and concentrating on collecting all the clues about who the murderer is, you may be sidetracked by a few famous faces lending their acting weight to the production, including EastEnders and Grange Hill legend (not forgetting Dancing on Ice) Todd Carty who is brilliant as the recently retired and seemingly affable Major Metcalf and Catherine Shipton – aka  Lisa ‘Duffy’ Duffin in BBC drama Casualty – as the bad-tempered Mrs. Boyle.

There’s a guaranteed great view from every seat

No mystery here, the Floral Pavilion is a superb, modern theatre, created to give every audience member the best experience possible. We’ve said it before, but we’ll say it again, with no pillars or posts you’ll have a panoramic view of the stage from wherever you’re sitting, so there’s no excuse for not catching every one of the clues and cracking the case.

It’s a murder mystery, so you’ll be guessing throughout the whole show

The Mousetrap

And you’ll probably change your mind over who is the murderer again and again! That’s what makes it such a superb production and a great night out. In The Mousetrap, as news spreads of a murder in London, a group of seven strangers find themselves snowed in at Monkswell Manor, a remote countryside guesthouse. When a police sergeant arrives, the guests discover – to their horror – that a killer is in their midst. One by one, the suspicious characters reveal their sordid pasts, but which one is the murderer? And who will be their next victim?

It’s at the brilliant Floral Pavilion Theatre

You can make a day of your trip to see this all-time greatest murder mystery by having a little tour of New Brighton. You could take a trip to Fort Perch Rock and the famous lighthouse or go and see the community-built driftwood boat, The Black Pearl, before heading to the Pavilion where you can grab a coffee in the café or a pre-show dinner in the Panoramic Lounge. Well, it’s not every day you go to see one of the world’s greatest murder mysteries – so celebrate it!
