Easter’s almost here, and if you can tear yourself away from all those chocolate treats, there’s loads of eggs-citing activities going on in St Helens this weekend.
From egg hunts to panto and a fabulous funfair, you can enjoy four days of fun from Good Friday to Easter Monday – and beyond …
All the fun of the fair

There’s an Easter Children’s Fun Fair at Taylor Park from Friday to Monday, April 3-6, with loads of great kids’ rides and activities. There’ll also be all your favourite food and drink, with burgers, hotdogs and scrummy donuts, and it’s open daily from 11am until 6pm.
Panto at Theatre Royal

Always an absolutely epic panto, the team at Regal Entertainments are back with Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs this Easter. Theatre Royal favourites Tim Lucas, Lewis Devine and Richard Aucott star in the classic tale with Chantelle Morgan as Snow White and Shania Pain appearing as the Wicked Queen. This one never disappoints and it’s on from now until Sunday, April 12.

Artisan Market – St Helens Linkway

Regenerated by The Cannington Shaw Preservation Trust CIC who’ve restored and refurbished one of the first successful regenerative furnaces in the world, the No. 7 Bottle Shop has got a new lease of life – and this weekend it’s launching the first of its monthly artisan markets on Saturday, April 4. It’s on from 10am until 4pm with handcrafted goods, food and drink – and community spirit! – right next to Tesco Extra.

Become an Egg Detective in Church Square

Youngsters can put their detective skills to the test with a hunt around Church Square to find the missing Easter Eggs on Friday and Saturday, April 3-4. The search will be on between 10am and 4pm each day, so get ready to crack the clues (but not the eggs!).

World of Glass

There’s two weeks of Easter fun at World of Glass, lasting from now until Sunday, April 12, with the chance to design your very own glass Easter egg, get stuck into a whole range of Spring and Easter-themed craft activities, enjoy seasonal adventures following the Easter bunnies and their eggs in its Easter Tankhouse Trail and finding the eggs hidden around the town’s famous museum, and more.

Scavenger Hunt

Join in an Easter Scavenger Hunt in Victoria Park between 1-3pm on Sunday, April 5. Organised by Friends of Victoria Park, you just need to meet up at St Mark’s Gate Lodge at 1pm to pick up your worksheet and follow the clues – then it’s back to the lodge with your completed sheet to claim your Easter treat!

Museum magic

The North West Museum of Road Transport in St Helens is reopening this Saturday, April 4, and will be open every Saturday and Sunday, from 10am to 4pm with its collection of single and double decker public transport vehicles dating back to the 1930s, vintage cars, motorbikes, fire-engines, push-bikes and even a milk float all on show.
