8 nights out with a difference in Liverpool

Get booking your next Liverpool adventure with one of these experience bars and attractions in the city.

Liverpool’s buzzing and getting back to life – and we are just loving it!

It’s been a while but there’s loads to do and visit, from old favourite places to tons of new ones just waiting for you to try.

So if you need a reminder, or a few hints by way of introduction, here are nine experience bars and attractions that you need to get on your list for starters…

VRVE, Water Street

If you’ve ever fancied being Rocky and getting into the ring with Adonis Creed, or channelling your inner Skywalker to take on evil Darth Vader, then now’s your chance. VRVE is a new Virtual Reality Visitor Experience which, using cutting-edge technology, allows you to enter a make-believe world where almost anything is possible. You can put on your VR headset and live out your action fantasy or be like Mario and drive around the track in your cart.

There are more than 50 games and experiences to choose from. It’s fun just for two or for larger groups and, after you’ve enjoyed your adventure, you can relax in the café with a drink and a bite to eat. So who do you want to be?

Book your place here.

Point Blank Shooting Liverpool, Castle Street

This is definitely one to get in your sights! Point Blank shooting is a state-of-the-art simulation shooting range launched in the former basement site of Olive, where sharp-shooting groups of up to 10 can compete to get the highest scores by shooting their way through a series of courses, and individuals can choose from an extensive personal armoury. There are no real-life targets or graphic imagery, it’s all about speed and accuracy, giving people a chance to test their aim and trigger reflexes against their mates or go solo to beat their own personal best.

Although you don’t have to, you can get a drink or a bite to eat: American classics likes pizza and wings are on the menu – there’s bottomless brunch every Sunday – and there’s an extensive drinks menu including cocktails.

Book your booth here.

PINS Social Club

From bowling to shuffleboard, and first-rate food to the best behind the bar… “we’ve got it!”, say PINS, and they’re not wrong.

They’ve taken socialising back to the good old days when a night out was a real event, with music, games, and the chance to have a laugh and catch up with friends. You can even tailor your evening to suit with the promise ‘it’s your purpose-build playland’.

Plus, PINS is also home to Liverpool’s biggest rooftop, complete with its very own bar and full-sized shuffle court. What’s not to love?!

Roxy Ball Room – Hanover Street and Rainford Square

The home of booze and ball games, there’s not just one but two Roxy Ball Rooms in the city so we’re spoilt for choice.

It’s great for groups because you can play plain old ping pong, ten pin bowls, shuffleboard and its speciality, crazy pool which is a mash up of crazy golf and pool, while enjoying a bite to eat – their stonebaked pizzas are amazing! – a beer, or a cocktail (how about a signature Ping Star Martini with Absolut vanilla vodka, Marie Brizard triple sec, passion fruit liqueur, passion fruit puree, pineapple, lemon and vanilla syrup?).

Hanover Street also reckons it’s got one of the best sun terraces in the city if you just fancy chilling or relaxing after a stressful game of pool. There’s loads to choose from but there’s one thing guaranteed – you’ll have a great laugh with your mates.

Escape Liverpool, Atlantic Pavilion, Albert Dock

Use your nous and keen mystery-solving skills to avoid another lockdown!

You can enter bizarre and brave new worlds to complete ground-breaking missions and challenges, working as a team to find clues and solve the puzzles before getting ‘locked in’.

Choose from games like The Last Vikings, Blackbeard’s Treasure, Escape the Wild West, Alice in Puzzleland, and more for your exciting Albert Dock experience.

Junkyard Golf Club, Liverpool ONE, Paradise Street

Known as ‘the ultimate crazy golf experience’ Junkyard Golf Club is a three- course playground at Liverpool ONE. The first of the golf courses is ‘Gary’ with nine holes of fun created from written-off cars and auto spares (there’s a scrapyard slide and UV rave room too), joining Gary is Pablo who invites you to explore the hidden depths of an urban jungle course, and third is Bozo’s twisted and scary fairground course (if clowns give you the creeps you might want to miss this one!)

The music’s fab, and you can get themed cocktails, kiosk snacks and pose for all your pics in the photo booth.

Book your game here.

Team Sport Go Karting, Sefton Street

Add some fuel-injected fun into your life with Team Sport Go Karting, and press the pedal to the metal to re-enact your F1 fantasies.

There’s a purpose-built track where you can compete against yourself to set a personal best, or battle it out against your mates – there are even trophies for winners in the competitive 50 Lap Race!

You can enjoy the speed and excitement and imagine what it’s like to be Lewis Hamilton or Sergio Perez, and then slow down with a drink at the bar, or a bit of banter with food.

Book your next race here!

Invisible Wind Factory Rollerdome, Regent Road

Get your skates on for a unique roller-skating experience that’s just launched.

Not your average skating rink, the first season’s theme is an interplanetary disco with mirrored geometry, laser grids and a giant floating spaceship creating an other-worldly adventure as you test your speed and balance on wheels.

The IWF team will be exploring ways to combine exercise, sport and well-being with immersive audio-visual production, music and art – and the Rollerdrome is the first stage, and IWF has a new focus on activities that promote physical, mental and social well-being for everyone, from young starters, families and solo skaters of all ages.
