Easter Bank Holiday has arrived and you won’t go short of night out ideas in Liverpool.
It’s the biggest bank holiday weekend of the year, and if you’ve struck lucky and got all four days off then you’ll be wanting to make the most of them.
Sunday’s all about going big with the eggs, but once you’ve binged on chocolate, here are 17 other things you could be doing this Easter Bank Holiday …
Bank Holiday bowling and bevvies at Roxy Rainford Square
Long weekends are made for getting together with your mates, so do it over a bowling session – maybe squeeze in a bit of prosecco pong? – at Roxy Ball Room. Line them up and get in the cocktails or shots and you’ve got the weekend sorted.
Tuck into Feaster Sunday at Frederiks, Hope Street
Fred’s roasts are up there with the very best, so go easy on the eggs in the morning and treat yourself to a Sunday lunch. Just for Easter, they’ve got a three-course lunch menu for £25 per person, from 12 til 8pm, which includes Mini Egg warm chocolate brownie for pud (because there’s always room for more).

You don’t need to have listened in history lessons to love this fabulous award-winning take on the Tudors. Coming to Liverpool after a massive success in the West End and Broadway, SIX tells the stories of Henry VIII’s six wives, in their own words and with a storming soundtrack that’s got nods to Beyonce, Rihanna and more.
Bottomless Brunch at Lime Street Central
A bottomless brunch is a good idea any weekend, but on a Bank Holiday it’s even better. Just along from the station, Lime Street Central serves up a great one every Saturday and Sunday between 11am and 2pm. The menu includes classic full English or veggie and eggs Benny and you get 90 minutes of endless prosecco, pale ale or selected cocktails for £25pp.
Easter Extravaganza at Southport Market
One for all the family – Southport Market is open every day over the Easter holidays from 10am and this Friday and Saturday, the Easter Extravaganza is on from 11am to 4pm (last entry 3pm). Try out the fantastic food stalls and kids can enjoy the Gloria & the Easter Bunny show, a craft area, face painter, selfie corner and Easter surprises. All-inclusive tickets are £5 for kids, adults go free.
Gold Digger Hip Hop special at Camp and Furnace
There’s only one place to go for hip hop and RnB music this weekend and that’s Camp and Furnace where Gold Digger will be happening. The whole night is dedicated to all the biggest names and tunes so find some room in your Bank Holiday for Snoop, Jay-Z and Missy. There’ll be live performances, themed cocktails and classic video throwbacks too.
Try new foodie hotspot Manifest in the Baltic Triangle
This place just off Jamaica Street has got everyone talking and for good reason – it’s pretty special. It’s fine dining without the stuffiness, so you get the top-quality food but with a lovely relaxed feel – and it’s in a really beautiful converted warehouse space too, so it’s still got the authentic Baltic vibe. If you don’t want a full meal, you can always pop in for a shared meat and cheeseboard and a drink.
Alma De Cuba presents the Resurrection, Easter Sunday
If you love a bit of techno then Alma’s got your Bank Holiday made because on Sunday there’ll be a takeover of the stunning old church by KÖLE & Misrep with Brazilian techno master Wehbba for a massive one-off night in the city. 6pm til 3am.
The State is back with House is a Feeling on Easter Sunday
And it’s at a new venue that’s just as iconic – Lee Butler’s got his hands on the keys for the old Garlands on Eberle Street and there’s going to be a huge two-day party there over the weekend. On Saturday it’s House is a Feeling with DJs including Lee, Ian Longo and Billie Clements, and on Sunday there’s a Back to My Roots Easter Special, over 25s only, for classic anthems with Graeme Park, Lee and Andy Carroll.
Tuck into the new Spring menu at Barnacle
Upstairs on the mezzanine of Duke Street Market, Barnacle never fails to deliver first class food from some of our city’s most creative chefs. The spring menu is on now and it showcases the pick of the region’s finest produce including Claremont Farm asparagus and gnocchi served with Wirral watercress.

Ma knows what goes into making a memorable weekend – it’s that combination of quality food, drink and music that does it. Because it isn’t all about chocolate – just mainly – steak fans will be in for a real treat at CowShed on Seel Street. If you know and love it, the cuts here are phenomenal, you just need to choose your favourite then pick a sauce and sides, it’s that simple.
Easter Parade at PINS Social Club
There’s loads going on at PINS this Easter Weekend, and that includes the return of Lil Ones Bowl Free on certain sessions, just in time for the Easter holidays. On Saturday join the Easter Parade Party in the main bar from 7pm with DJs, live music and dancers on the runway, then on Sunday there’s a full day and night of entertainment, kicking off with the Easter Feast sharing roast from 1-5pm and a Flag Parade with live performances, dancers, DJs and a tickertape drop from 8pm.
Visit the new Rudy’s Pizza on Bold Street
One Rudy’s on Castle Street was nice, but now there’s double pizza joy to be had because they’ve opened on Bold Street too. If you’ve not been there yet, now’s the time to try the freshly-made pizza, done just like they do it in Naples. You can’t beat the classics – but if you want to have a go, there’s always the porchetta with roasties on!
Live music and the footy at McCooley’s on Mathew Street
The big Easter weekend always means lots of footy action, and a nervous time for Reds and Blues fans even if it’s for very different reasons. See how all the rivals are doing and get the beers in front of the big screens at McCooley’s Mathew Street, there’s roasts on Sunday til 9pm and live music all night too.
