Bundobust has announced its Oktoberfest plans
2 years ago
Bundobust, Indian Street Food and Craft Beer connoisseurs, have announced their plans to celebrate Oktoberfest 16th September – 23rd October in Liverpool.
Launching Friday 16th September from 5pm, “BUNDOBAR!”, Bundobust’s spin on Oktoberfest festivities sees the launch of four Indian Street Food interpretations of German festival food standards, two Oktoberfest beer specials, and a super limited edition ceramic stein crafted by internationally renowned potter, Joe Hartley.
Bundobust chefs tackle the German institution of currywurst with CURRYWURST KOFTAS (vegan, gluten free. £7). Desi dumplings of cauliflower, cabbage and carrot are served with a classic currywurst sauce charged with garam masala and a dusting of curry powder.
Another twist on German tradition comes in the form of KARTOFFELPUFFER (vegan, gluten free. £5). Potato and sauerkraut fritters spiced with fresh fenugreek, fennel, chilli and ginger. Served with a traditional cinnamon applesauce dip.
PROST PICKLES (vegan, gluten free. £4) offer a medley of heritage carrot, mooli radish, turnip and cauliflower pickled with mustard, chilli, dill and peppercorns.
BATAKA SALAT (£5) boosts the backline with a German-Indian potato salad. Purple and new potatoes combined with dill, curried sour cream, tamarind chutney and crunchy samosa pastry.
Can’t decide what to order? Fear not, Bundobust have created an OKTOBERFEST COMBO FOR 2 for just £32, featuring Prost Pickles + Kartoffelpuffer + Bataka Salat + Currywurst Koftas + Okra Fries + Chole Saag.
Headlining the bar, Bundobust have brewed up the limited edition “BUNDOBAR!” – 5.2% Black Lager, a proper German style Schwarzbier with Munich and Vienna malts. Priced at £5.40 a pint, BUNDOBAR! pairs well with the Oktoberfest specials flying out of the kitchen.
Bundobust have also linked with world class Norfolk farmhouse brewery, Duration, to collaborate on TOO MUCH CRISPY, a 5% Helles. Look no further for all your clean and malty golden German style Helles Lager needs! Available on tap and in cans at all Bundobust venues.
Looking for a pint-sized Bundobar! souvenir? Celebrated Manchester potter, Joe Hartley, of Yellowhammer in Stockport, has created a super limited run of Bundobust Brewery ceramic steins for their Oktoberfest celebrations. Taking inspiration from Munich stein culture and traditional British Studio Pottery, Hartley has created unique stoneware tankards available for purchase at all Bundobust venues.
