Southport Market is back open after its Christmas break

It’s 18 months since Southport Market reopened as a classy food and drink venue with ten mouthwatering outlets.

Now, after a brief winter break to recover from the festive season, Southport Market’s doors are open again.

It’s easily reached by train, with the station just a few minutes walk away, and is a great reason to visit the seaside town for a relaxed brunch, tasty lunch or evening meal and drinks.

The food on offer includes pizza, burgers, Mexican, sushi, pasta, sweet treats and more.

And with a raft of events coming up over the next few months, there are more reasons than ever to give this food and drinks market a visit.

Here are our top five reasons to go to Southport Market in the next few months.

Half term pizza workshop for the kids

Stuck for something to do with this children this half term? Then the market might just have the answer.

On Wednesday 15^th February at 3.30pm, 600 Degrees will be hosting their brilliant pizza workshop for kids.

Dan and the team will be on hand to teach the little ones how to stretch dough, top and bake their own pizzas in the 600 Degrees oven.

Message @600degrees.uk on instagram to find out more and book a place for £20, including pizza. Be quick though, there are only 15 places available.

Free children’s Circus Skills Workshop

Another brilliant half term idea at Southport Market is this event on Thursday, 16^th February, from 11am-1pm.

The circus workshop will be hosted by Bring the Fire Project and includes juggling, spinning plates, ribbons and hoops.

Two instructors will be on hand to teach the tricks and facilitate play.

No booking necessary.

Party at the ultimate 80s night

Dave Broe’s 80s Mixtape comes to Southport Market on Saturday, 29^th April from 7pm-10.30pm.

Dave and the Gambolling Arena Girls will bring the top sounds of the decade – from the likes of Erasure, Human League, Madonna, Duran Duran and Pointer Sister.

Fancy dress is encouraged and the night will be hosted by our great friend Claire Simmo.

Live entertainment Thursdays

Southport Market hosts live entertainment every Thursday.

Whether it’s music from local acts, open mic nights, or a quiz, there is always something happening to start your weekend a day early.

On 23^rd February, you can enjoy live music from singer songwriter Oisin Hassan while you enjoy a drink from the Market Bar and some food from one of the ten onsite vendors.

As well as the bar and food outlets at the market, you can also visit the brilliant Blackhurst Butchers.

Blackhurst Butchers is a family run business, who pride themselves on fresh and local British produce.

Established in the Southport Market since 1963, Blackhurst offer a delivery or collection service.
