Liverpool Book Festival returns to BOXPARK with huge summer special this August
26 minutes ago
Book lovers, families and foodies are all in for a treat this summer as the hugely popular Liverpool Book Festival returns with a special one day event at BOXPARK Liverpool this August.
Taking place on Sunday 2 August, the Liverpool Book Festival summer special promises a packed day of books, live music, talks, food, artisan stalls and family activities, with more than 60 authors set to take part.
Following recognition at the Liverpool City Region Tourism Awards, where the festival picked up a runner up prize for event of the year, organisers say this latest edition will be bigger and better than ever.

More than just a traditional book fair, the event blends literature with entertainment, shopping and live experiences, creating what organisers describe as something for everyone.
Visitors will be able to meet over 60 authors selling books directly, including familiar faces such as celebrity chef Dave Critchley, former SAS soldier Rusty Firmin, comic book legends Tim Quinn and Kev Sutherland, plus crime writer Conrad Jones and a host of local independent authors and publishers.
Alongside the books, festival goers can browse artisan stalls featuring jewellery, artwork, skincare, baked goods, vintage finds and book inspired gifts, while BOXPARK’s food vendors and bars will be serving up food and drinks throughout the day.

There will also be a full programme of talks and activities, including everything from live hypnosis and tarot sessions to talks on Liverpool music venues, The Beatles, the SAS and comic books.
Live music will run throughout the day too, with performances from regional artists including Abbie Fairchild, Liz Owen and Aimee Lea Frances, before DJs soundtrack the evening.
Families are being encouraged to get involved, with a dedicated kids zone featuring storytelling, workshops, discos and interactive activities. In a new move for 2026, children under 12 can attend for free with a paying adult, making it an affordable summer holidays day out.
Festival organiser and La Vida Liverpool founder Justin Hopper said: “Liverpool Book Festival is a unique concept. It’s like a book fair on steroids.
“There’s going to be loads going on throughout the day, with something for everyone and simple, affordable ticketing. It’s a great choice for families during the summer holidays too.”
As with previous events, a percentage of ticket sales will be donated to charity, with this year supporting domestic violence charity Reverse North West and men’s mental health organisation Mersey Mind Project.

Liverpool Book Festival summer special takes place from 11am to 5pm on Sunday 2 August at BOXPARK Liverpool in the Baltic Triangle.
Tickets are £15 with all areas included, while under 12s go free with a paying adult.
