St. Joseph’s Hospice gears up for its annual Summer Garden Party
1 year ago
The Hospice is inviting supporters and families to its annual Summer Garden Party from 12pm this Saturday, 2 September.
St. Joseph’s Hospice, on Ince Road in Thornton L23, will be welcoming everyone to its beautiful woodland gardens for an afternoon full of fun for the whole family.
Children can also bring along their ‘Best Dressed’, Oldest’, or ‘Most Unusual’ teddy bear for the hospice’s famous Teddy Bear Parade, a hospice tradition enjoyed by generations of local families,
The event has been postponed twice over the summer, due to torrential rain, but the forecast for this Saturday is currently looking dry and bright so it looks set to be the perfect end to the summer holidays.
There will also be stalls selling crafts, face painting and children’s activities, as well as food and drink stalls, including an ice cream van, and a BBQ with meat kindly donated by KK Meats.
The event is free to attend and you can just turn up on the day but the hospice is asking local families to make every effort to come along and help to raise much-needed funds for the hospice, which provides compassionate end of life care to local people and their families.
Maxine Armstrong, head of fundraising and lottery at St. Joseph’s Hospice, said:
“We are really excited to finally be able to hold our summer Garden Party and we hope everyone will come along and support us. It is a lovely family event and we can’t wait to welcome everyone.”\
