Nominations are now open for the Believe Awards 2024, a prestigious event celebrating the region’s young hidden heroes.
Hosted by the charity Ykids, the Believe Awards will take place in June at the Titanic Hotel, for an unforgettable steampunk-themed evening.
The Believe Awards seek to honor young people aged 7 – 17 who have demonstrated extraordinary courage, selflessness, and dedication to serving their communities, making Merseyside a better place for all.
The awards have been made possible by headline sponsor pladis Global, locally known as ‘Jacobs’ who have been making biscuits and crackers in Liverpool for over 100 years.
Liz Kinsley, General Manager at pladis Global, said:
“We are over the moon to sponsor and be part of the Believe Awards event again in 2024 and are looking forward to seeing even more inspiring young people from across our community be rewarded.”
The Believe Awards, initiated in 2012 by Ykids, aims to challenge stereotypes and celebrate the positive contributions of young people in the region.
As a charity dedicated to supporting children and young people in Merseyside, Ykids believes in empowering youth to become “World Changers.”
Claire Morgans, CEO of Ykids, said:
“So many young people are selflessly serving their communities and we want them to know they are seen, and valued, and Merseyside has many amazing young people to be proud of.”
The theme for this year’s awards is ‘History Makers,’ paying tribute to the influential figures who have shaped Liverpool’s history. By highlighting the remarkable achievements of today’s youth, the Believe Awards aim to inspire and uplift the next generation of leaders.
Nominations are open to young people aged 7-17 living across Merseyside. Anyone can nominate a deserving individual, and all nominees will receive a certificate of recognition.
The shortlisted winners, totaling 10 young heroes, will be invited to the spectacular event at the Titanic Hotel on June 21, 2024. Alongside their families, they will receive VIP treatment, an honoured award, and the recognition they truly deserve.
There are numerous ways to get involved, from nominating a young person to sponsoring a table, donating a prize, or purchasing a ticket. All proceeds from the event will support vulnerable children and young people in our city region.
