Splash Tours launches at Royal Albert Dock in time for Summer in Liverpool
4 months ago
Liverpool’s newest attraction, Splash Tours Liverpool, launches next week, offering an exciting 60-minute land and water tour from the Royal Albert Dock.
Starting Friday, August 2, Splash Tours will provide six daily tours, showcasing landmarks like the Royal Liver Building, Liverpool Cathedral, and St George’s Hall.
Following seven years of design and development and months of in-depth testing and surveys, the tour is at the cutting edge of amphibious vehicle innovation and is ready to share the excitement of seamless land and water travel with its passengers.
Ed Lumley, co-founder, said:
“I have been in love with Liverpool from a young age and it’s been a dream for nearly ten years to bring our amphibious tours to this great city.
“We’re hoping that the Splash Tours vehicle will be a much-loved feature of Liverpool’s world-leading visitor economy for many years.
“I can’t wait to share our unique offering with the people of Liverpool and its visitors.”
Sean Morrison, estate manager at Royal Albert Dock, said:
“It’s wonderful to add Splash Tours Liverpool to the growing list of vibrant attractions available at the dock.
“In a city steeped with history, we’re delighted to be part of a unique experience that allows visitors to immerse themselves in Liverpool and provides an exciting opportunity to see the iconic waterfront like never before.”
Andrea Barrett, partnerships and funding manager at Canal & River Trust, said:
“It’s great that Splash Tours is the latest new tour operator coming to join the already thriving community of leisure craft – such as trip boats and floating restaurants – on and around Canal & River Trust’s water at Royal Albert Dock.”
Splash Tours Liverpool is operated by the Lumley family, headed up by father Graham Lumley, his son Ed and daughter Amelia, who have run a similar operation in Windsor successfully since 2013.
Under its manufacturing arm, Seahorse Amphibious, it is the only company in Europe to manufacture and operate its own amphibious vehicles, with a combined experience of 40 years.
Tickets are priced from £14 (free for under 2 year olds) and are available on their website.
