Berlin-based Curses makes dark, romantic, cinematic New Wave, threading the visceral connection between 1980’s inspired Goth and melancholic post-punk to the DIY energy of early electronic body music. Having just signed to legendary synth label Italians Do It Better they are releasing a new album “Another Heaven this autumn – soaked in the signature Curses’ ghostly guitars and haunting vocals.
Nuovo Testamento illuminates the dance floor with their unique pop hits with a dark Italian disco flavor. After the release of the EP Exposure, their acclaimed full lenght New Earth exploded on the dance floor. Including the classic instant synthpop “the Searcher”, along with the Hi-NRG tribute “Michelle Michelle” and hits with goth shades like “Golden Boy”, New Earth is widely considered in all genres one of the best underground albums of the year in 2021.
In 2022 they announced their second album Love Lines by way of a polished lead single that sounds like it’s right out of the ‘80s’ glory days. With its energetic groove, bass slaps, and Crowley’s Madonna-esque vocals, “Heartbeat” demonstrates that the band is here to serve up another epic dance party – even as Crowley sings “can’t imagine that it’s gonna last.”
