Home Bargains makes £2.5 million pledge to support Zoe’s Place

Home Bargains has pledged a staggering £2.5m to support Liverpool baby hospice, Zoe’s Place.

Liverpool-based retailer TJ Morris Ltd  (Home Bargains) has made a remarkable pledge of £2.5 million to Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice, providing crucial hope for the children and families supported by the charity.

This significant contribution accounts for half of the £5 million funding gap required to keep the hospice open.

Earlier this month, Zoe’s Place, announced the impending closure of their current site by the end of the year. However, the community’s response has reignited hope, with Ian Byrne MP spearheading a city-wide fundraising drive that has now garnered the support of Home Bargains.

Ian Byrne MP commented:

“This is unbelievable news and what an example of Liverpool coming together. A huge thanks to Home Bargains for their generosity in helping us to take a huge step forward to secure a bright future for Zoe’s Place Liverpool.”

Since its establishment in Liverpool in 1995, the hospice has supported children and families for over 29 years, ensuring they can live life to the fullest, despite any life-limiting or life-threatening condition or disability they may have.

Joan Stainsby, Executive Trustee, expressed her gratitude, stating:

“This unprecedented pledge reflects the generosity and overwhelming support we are experiencing from the Liverpool community and beyond. As a charity, we are immensely grateful to Home Bargains for standing by us in our time of need.”

Home Bargains has been a loyal supporter of Zoe’s Place, previously committing to fund vital elements of the new hospice, including an on-site hydrotherapy pool designed to provide comfort and relief to children with various health conditions.

This £2.5 million pledge marks a pivotal moment for Zoe’s Place, reinforcing the community’s commitment to ensure the baby hospice continues to provide vital support for children with life-limiting conditions and their families, for many years to come.
