Liverpool John Lennon Airport passengers will soon be able to fly direct to Budapest after easyJet announced a brand new route to the Hungarian capital.
The airline has confirmed flights will launch on 19 November 2026, operating twice a week on Thursdays and Sundays, giving travellers across the North West another popular European city break destination to choose from.
Budapest becomes the latest addition to easyJet’s growing Liverpool network and is expected to be particularly popular during the winter months, when the city’s Christmas markets, thermal baths and festive atmosphere attract visitors from across Europe.
Known for its stunning architecture, rich history and vibrant food and nightlife scene, Budapest is home to famous landmarks including Buda Castle, the Hungarian Parliament Building and the iconic Chain Bridge. Visitors can also explore the banks of the River Danube and unwind in some of the city’s world famous thermal spas.
Flights are on sale now via easyJet, with fares starting from £25.99.
Holidaymakers looking to book a city break can also take advantage of easyJet holidays packages, which include flights and hotel accommodation, alongside flexible booking options.
Kevin Doyle, UK Country Manager at easyJet, said: “We’re excited to be adding Budapest to our growing network from Liverpool, giving customers even more choice when planning their holidays.
“Budapest is a hugely popular destination, particularly during the winter season, and we’re confident this new route will appeal to customers looking for a great value city break and to travel with ease.”

Paul Winfield, Aviation Director at Liverpool John Lennon Airport, added: “We are pleased that easyJet is expanding choice for our passengers with the addition of Budapest, responding to strong demand for additional frequency to this popular destination.
“The new service enhances Liverpool’s connectivity for passengers across the North West and North Wales, while further strengthening our offering to key city break markets.
“easyJet’s continued growth at the North West’s Faster, Easier, Friendlier Airport demonstrates the strength of the Liverpool market, and we anticipate this new service will prove very popular with travellers across the region.”
The new route takes easyJet’s Liverpool network to 41 destinations across 18 countries. The airline has continued to expand its presence at Liverpool over the past year, including basing an eighth aircraft at the airport and adding more routes across Europe and North Africa.
Passengers can book flights to Budapest now via the easyJet website and mobile app.
