Building on this long-standing commitment, the team behind the award-winning festival have this year pledged an additional £10,000 for microgrants aimed at supporting various local causes across Halton and Warrington.  Applicants wishing to apply have until 17th January 2025 to submit their funding request with successful candidates notified in March 2025.  More details on how to apply can be found here www.creamfields.com/communityfund

This year, the festival is collaborating with Halton and Warrington Borough Councils to help facilitate applications.   The Creamfields Community Fund which was established to support community projects, has contributed over £500,000 over the last ten years and this latest contribution reinforces its commitment to the local area.

Cllr Paul Nolan, Halton Borough Council’s portfolio holder for Culture & Leisure Services, says:

“We’re incredibly grateful to Creamfields for their continued support of the local community. This additional £10,000 contribution for microgrants will make a significant impact, helping to sustain existing activity and launch new initiatives that will benefit the entire community.”

This year to celebrate Halton’s 50th Anniversary a donation of £10,000 helped towards the running costs for the free event which attracted over 30,000 people across the weekend.   Another local event to benefit was the Hatton & District Show, which received a £2,000 donation to enhance its crafts and entertainment offerings.   The annual event, dating back to the 1890’s attracts residents from across the county and remains a cherished highlight in the community calendar.

“We are thrilled to have the support of Creamfields this year, enabling us to host a brilliant and varied show for all our visitors and participants!” Kate Fitch, Hatton & District Show Society

Other causes to receive donations include Warrington and Halton Hospital who received a £5,000 donation towards interactive equipment for adult patients with dementia and other complex needs.  In addition, the festival continues to support the wider local community, with its annual donations to five local parishes including Daresbury, Walton, Hatton, Stretton and Moore helping fund projects like road safety signage and initiatives, village defibrillators, and community events, including the D-Day commemorations and Christmas light switch-ons.

In line with its sustainability efforts, the festival partners annually with various charities and groups who help with the post festival salvage operation to repurpose left over tents and equipment.   This year’s beneficiaries include Help For Soldiers, Don’t Walk Past MCR, Care4Calais, Mr Old Hall St Kitchen, Liverpool In Arms, Thrive Mental Wellbeing, YMCA and local scout groups to name a few.   Additionally, charity raffle tickets have raised funds for organisations such as Action for Children, British Red Cross, Cash for Kids, Clatterbridge Cancer Charity, Zoes Place, RNLI and Marie Curie
