If you love the water, come and see what Wirral Watersports Centre has to offer you this Summer.
With a range of activities for children and adults throughout July and August, residents and visitors to the leisure peninsula can make a splash – whatever the weather!
Bookings are now open for children’s summer holiday clubs, adult group sailing sessions and training courses. Lake licences will continue to be available every day, and groups who already use the lake will be able to keep their activities running.

Cllr Ian Lewis, Chair of Tourism, Communities, Culture and Leisure Committee for Wirral Council, said:
“Enthusiasts and beginners alike can enjoy a variety of activities at Wirral Watersports Centre this Summer.
“With courses and one-off sessions available for children and adults, there’s plenty for Wirral families and visitors to try out.”
Book now for:
- Children’s multi-activity sessions – holidays clubs for eight-16 year olds – five day (full or half days) and two day programmes available, where your child can try a variety of watersports activity. No previous experience needed. Wetsuit and safety equipment provided. Prices start at £120 for two days.
- Royal Yachting Association (RYA) courses for children and adults including sailing, windsurfing and powerboating.
- ‘Let’s Launch’ Adult Watersports Sessions – available on Wednesday and Saturdays. This is an open session on the water with an instructor in a social setting, with informal coaching for all abilities.
- Lake licences – one day passes or six or 12 month memberships are available if you already own a craft and would like to access the lake.

For those who would just like to dip their toe in, and give it a go, kayaks, paddleboards, and Funboats can be hired using Wirral Watersports Centre’s ‘Pay & Play’ offer. For just £18 per hour per craft, you and your family can get out on the water when conditions are suitable. It’s great exercise, great fun and the lake offers some of the best views on Wirral. Look out for the yellow LandRover and blue flags on the lakeside when Pay & Play is on offer.
Wirral Watersports Centre has Sand Cruiser beach wheelchairs which are available to hire free of charge, so that everyone can enjoy West Kirby beach. All users must be able to self-transfer into the chair with their carer’s help, there is a hoist available for your use. To book, please call 0151 929 7707.
