Something About George set for UK and Ireland tour this autumn
3 hours ago

A hit stage show celebrating the life and music of George Harrison is heading out on a brand new UK and Ireland tour this autumn, with 20 dates lined up across 19 venues.
Something About George – The George Harrison Story, starring West End performer and musician Daniel Taylor, will stop off at the Liverpool Playhouse for two special nights on 9 and 10 October.
The show first premiered at Liverpool Theatre Festival in 2021, before earning critical acclaim on its debut tour and at the Edinburgh Fringe. Since then, it’s wowed audiences around the country, including a sell-out performance marking what would have been Harrison’s 80th birthday, and most recently a major UK tour earlier this year.

Daniel Taylor – known for Blood Brothers, Lennon Through a Glass Onion, By The Waters of Liverpool and The Very Best of Tommy Cooper – returns to lead the cast. Joined by a live band, he’ll share the story of “the quiet Beatle” through some of his best-loved hits, including My Sweet Lord, Something, Got My Mind Set on You and Handle With Care. The show also features music from supergroup The Traveling Wilburys as well as classic Beatles tracks.
The autumn run opens in Doncaster on 3 October, before heading to Birmingham, Leeds, Alnwick and then Liverpool. Dates continue across the UK and Ireland, including Tallaght, Dun Laoghaire and Castlebar, before wrapping up in Blackpool on 16 November.

Written by Jon Fellowes and produced by Bill Elms, Fellowes and Gary Edward Jones of Something About Productions, the show brings Harrison’s life and music to the stage with warmth and authenticity.
Producer Bill Elms said:
“More than 20 years after George Harrison’s passing, his music still resonates with audiences around the world. The response to Something About George since its first performance in Liverpool has been incredible, and we’re delighted to bring it back for another tour, including two nights in George’s home city.”
