Cast confirmed for The Scouse Christmas Carol at Liverpool’s Royal Court

Liverpool’s Royal Court has confirmed the cast for The Scouse Christmas Carol and it’s already become the theatre’s fastest-selling festive show in 15 years.

Helen Carter, Paul Duckworth, Lindzi Germain, Adam McCoy, Lydia Rosa Morales-Scully, John-Paul Birss, Keddy Sutton, Jhanaica Van Mook and Lenny Wood have started rehearsals with the Royal Court’s creative team ahead of opening night on Friday 7 November.

Since Merry Ding Dong back in 2010, the Royal Court has staged a festive production every Christmas and local legend Lindzi Germain has starred in every single one.

Known for their trademark mix of big laughs, brilliant live music and a distinctly Liverpool take on the classics, The Scouse Christmas Carol promises to be another show-stopping addition to the city’s seasonal line-up.

This year, audiences can expect a festive twist on Dickens’ classic with a proper Scouse murder mystery. Jacob Marley’s dead, and his wife Mary Marley’s determined to find out who did it, with Scrooge firmly in her sights. Expect laughs, ghosts, and more Christmas chaos than you can shake a mince pie at.

The Scouse Christmas Carol will run from 7 November 2025 – 17 January 2026 at Liverpool Royal Court.

The team behind last year’s hit Christmas show are back, bringing all the humour, heart and music that Royal Court audiences love. Tickets start from £18 and are available now.

More festive shows at the Royal Court

There’s plenty more to see at the Royal Court this Christmas.

Stocking Fillers returns to the Studio from 28 November to 3 January, six brand new ten-minute festive plays written by members of the Royal Court’s writing groups. It’s a mix of comedy and drama that’ll have you laughing, crying and feeling Christmassy from head to mistle-toe. Tickets start from £14.

And following a sell-out run in 2024, It’s A Wonderful Life returns from 7 to 22 November. Presented by Old Fruit Jar Productions, this heart-warming adaptation of the Frank Capra classic tells the story of George Bailey, a man reminded of his worth by a guardian angel on Christmas Eve. Tickets start from £16.

With three festive productions and plenty of Scouse humour, the Royal Court is once again at the heart of Liverpool’s Christmas celebrations.
