The Watering Can reveals a new autumn menu

Autumn has officially landed at The Watering Can, and the city’s favourite café-bistro is turning up the cosy factor with a new menu.

As the leaves fall in Greenbank Park, The Watering Can is bringing all the autumn vibes, think rich dishes, hearty portions, and a stunning new autumnal entrance installation bursting with burnt orange tones, golden leaves and natural textures. It’s the perfect setting to enjoy a long lunch, lazy brunch, or a catch-up with friends whatever the weather.

The new menu has something for everyone, from snacks and small plates to big comforting dishes that make chilly days a whole lot better. And in true Watering Can style, everything’s made with love, creativity, and the freshest high quality ingredients.

Oh, and did we mention the home-baked artisan bread? It’s made fresh on-site every day and available to buy, along with a tempting selection of pastries and scones, ideal for those take-home treats.

Old favourites are sticking around, but there are plenty of new stars too. Among the must-try mains are the every popular Posh Fish Finger Sandwich (homemade tartare sauce, baby gem and brioche bun), the Caesar Salad (pancetta, sourdough croutons and heaps of parmesan), and the ultimate comfort classic, an 8oz rump steak with triple-cooked chips, portobello mushroom and griddled tomato (and yes, you can add chimichurri or peppercorn sauce).

Burger fans are in for a treat too, with the Salt-Aged Rump Steak & Marrowfat Burger (served with American cheese, burger sauce, lettuce, tomato, onion and dill pickles on a toasted brioche bun)  and a spicy Korean Fried Chicken Burger (loaded with Gochujang hot honey, kimchi, Togarashi mayo and baby gem, all in a toasted brioche bun). Pasta lovers, don’t worry, the Rigatoni Arrabbiata with slow-roasted tomato and chilli sauce, with the option to add pancetta or chicken for an extra kick.

If you’re more into sharing, or snacking while sipping a hot chocolate or a glass of wine, the Smaller Plates section is a feast of flavour,  from Korean Hot Honey Chicken Wings to Patatas Bravas, Cheddar and IPA Fondue, Wild Mushroom Parfait, Beetroot Hummus, and the ever-popular Fish Cakes.

Whether you’re popping in for a quick bite, a cosy lunch or catch up, or just want to soak up the autumn vibes surrounded by twinkling lights and good company, The Watering Can is serving up seasonal comfort with a smile!

The Watering Can is open seven days a week from Monday-Sunday 9am-7pm.
