The biggest Christmas gift appeal on the Wirral is underway for 2025 and it’s aiming to support more local children than ever this year.

Organisers are asking residents, businesses, and Council staff to donate different types of gifts to ensure presents are available for the children of all ages – from babies up to 17 year olds – and have suggested:

  • Toys for little ones (ages 0–12)
  • Books (ages 0-17)
  • Cosy pyjamas and fluffy socks for children and teens (ages 0–17)
  • Teen treats like toiletries, skincare, haircare, perfume, aftershave, make-up, socks or jewellery
  • Festive favourites such as selection boxes
  • One4All gift cards (available online or at Post Offices)
  • Medium and large Christmas gift bags

Public drop-off points for new and unwrapped donations (so appropriate gifts can be matched to their recipient) are open until midday on Monday 15 December at:

Family Hubs (open 9am-5pm Mon-Fri):

  • Brassey Gardens Children’s Centre, 2 Brassey Street, Birkenhead, CH41 8DA
  • Bromborough family Hub, Gratrix Road Bromborough, CH62 7BW
  • Ganneys Meadow School and Family Hub, CH49 8HB
  • Seacombe Family Hub, St Paul’s Road, Seacombe, CH44 7AN

Libraries (opening times vary):

  • Eastham Library, Mill Park Drive, CH62 9AN
  • Greasby Library, Greasby Road, CH49 3AT
  • Heswall Library, Telegraph Road, CH60 0AF
  • Rock Ferry Library, Old Chester Road, CH42 3TD

Superstores:

  • TESCO Bidston, Bidston Link Road, CH43 7AA

Other locations:

  • Floral Pavilion, Marine Prominade, New Brighton, CH45 2JS
  • Oval Leisure Centre, Bebington, CH63 7LF
  • West Kirby Concourse, Grange Road, West Kirby, CH48 4HX

If you’d prefer to shop online, you can send your gift straight to:
Wirral Council Christmas Gift Appeal, 5 Sandford Street, Birkenhead, CH41 1BN.

Mayor of Wirral, Cllr Brian Kenny, said:

“While Christmas is full of joy and excitement for most, it’s terrible to think that some local children won’t wake up to any gifts under the tree.

“That’s why Wirral’s Christmas gift appeal means so much. Every year, thanks to the incredible generosity of local people and businesses, we’re able to bring a little festive cheer to hundreds of young people who might otherwise go without.”
