Everton to trial new team welcome ahead of Arsenal fixture
3 hours ago
Everton will trial the use of the Western Terrace at Hill Dickinson Stadium for supporters to welcome the Everton first team.
This will take place as they arrive by coach ahead of this weekend’s Premier League fixture with Arsenal (8pm kick-off).
Team arrivals became an extremely popular part of the matchday experience in recent seasons, particularly during the final years at Goodison Park. This weekend marks the first opportunity for supporters to test a new version of that welcome at the Club’s new waterfront home, with the seated steps of the Western Terrace providing a natural amphitheatre for fans to cheer the team into the ground.
Supporters are encouraged to arrive early and make their way to the Western Terrace, which will be open from 5pm.
Supporters can enter the stepped terrace via either of the two end vomitories. Please note that capacity in this area will be limited and once reached, the section will be closed off to supporters for safety reasons.
The team coaches, accompanied by a Police escort, are due to arrive between 6pm – 6.15pm.
Fans are welcome to bring flags and banners to help create a vibrant and colourful atmosphere. However, the Club respectfully reminds supporters that pyrotechnics of any kind – including smoke grenades, smoke bombs, canisters and flares – are strictly prohibited on the stadium footprint. Searches will be conducted upon arrival at the Regent Road wall.
While Everton is eager to introduce this exciting, shared moment into the Hill Dickinson Stadium matchday experience, anyone found to throw, ignite or distribute pyrotechnics will be removed from the site and face police investigation and further potential legal or Club sanctions.
For safety and crowd-flow reasons, coach routes will also be cordoned off during the teams’ arrivals. Supporters are asked to follow instructions from stewards and safety personnel at all times.
The Club thanks all fans in advance for their co-operation and looks forward to an enjoyable and memorable team arrival experience.
