Liverpool favourite The Bus Yard has officially opened permanently inside Taskers as the new 1958 Bistro.
Having built a loyal following for its fresh, flavour-packed dishes, The Bus Yard has unveiled a brand new menu at Taskers, alongside a dedicated dining space for shoppers to sit and enjoy.
Located within the iconic Liverpool home and lifestyle store, the new bistro marks an exciting evolution for The Bus Yard, offering guests a welcoming sit-in space to enjoy comforting classics, fresh daytime dishes and hearty hot meals while they shop.
Taskers, a Liverpool institution since the 1950s, has long been a staple destination for homes across the region. Now, visitors can make a full day of it — browsing interiors, picking up homeware inspiration and sitting down to enjoy freshly prepared food in a relaxed, stylish setting.

The Bus Yard’s 1958 Bistro menu blends comforting favourites with lighter daytime options, all made fresh and designed for everything from a quick lunch break to a leisurely catch-up over coffee.
Guests can start with homemade soup or indulge in French toast topped with sweet berry compote, while those craving something savoury can enjoy soft brioche buns filled with bacon loin and sausage. Freshly made sandwiches, golden sausage rolls and flavour-packed quiches offer easy, satisfying options that are perfect for a mid-shop break.
For those looking for something more substantial, the bistro also serves vibrant poke bowls alongside a range of warming hot dishes designed to feel like home on a plate. Diners can tuck into traditional hot pot served with braised red cabbage, rich and comforting shepherd’s pie, or a chef’s choice pasta dish that changes regularly.
Classic steak and ale pie topped with golden puff pastry sits alongside a fragrant chicken butter curry served with fluffy basmati rice, giving guests a choice of hearty British favourites and globally inspired comfort food. Vegan options include flavourful falafel stuffed pittas.
Designed to feel warm, welcoming and family-friendly, 1958 Bistro provides a comfortable space where shoppers can pause, refuel and enjoy freshly cooked food at the heart of the store.

Andy Laird, Owner of The Bus Yard, said:
“We popped up at Taskers over the Christmas period and were overwhelmed by the love and support we received from Liverpool and beyond, with so many people visiting to shop for their home interiors. Opening permanently inside Taskers is a huge step for us. It’s been an institution in the city for so long and is the perfect local brand for us to partner with. We’re really excited to be part of the Taskers experience, giving visitors somewhere cosy to sit, eat and take a break while they explore the store.”
