A brand-new all-day bar café from the team behind Dishoom has officially opened its doors in Liverpool city centre following a successful soft launch.
Permit Room Liverpool is now welcoming guests at Exchange Court on Dale Street, inside the former Royal Bank of Scotland building.
The new venue has already been attracting plenty of attention after hundreds of guests visited during the soft launch week, where diners were offered 50% off food while the team fine-tuned the experience ahead of the full opening.
Situated just moments from Castle Street and Liverpool ONE, the restaurant brings the lively atmosphere of Bombay’s traditional Permit Rooms to the heart of the city, offering a space for everything from breakfast and lunch to evening drinks and late-night dining.

General Manager Thomas Dolby said the response from the city has been incredible so far.
He said hundreds of guests visited during the soft launch period and the feedback had been overwhelmingly positive, adding that the team are proud to officially open and bring the Permit Room experience to Liverpool.
A new all-day dining and drinks spot
Permit Room Liverpool combines Bombay’s bar culture with many of Dishoom’s well-known dishes alongside a lively drinks menu.
Food highlights include Crispy Spinach Chaat, Chef’s Lamb Curry and Prawn Moilee, along with a standout Permit Room Mixed Grill featuring chicken wings, half chicken tandoori, lamb kebabs and lamb chops served with chutney, pickled onions and kachumber.
Morning visitors can also enjoy a breakfast menu that includes Breakfast Naan Rolls, The Full Permit with spiced akuri eggs and bacon, and sweet and savoury Permit Room French Toast. House chai is also available throughout the day.
Walk-ins welcome

Bookings are available throughout the day, but the venue will always hold tables back for walk-in guests, making it easy for people to drop in for a quick drink, dinner with friends or a celebration.
The drinks menu features a range of cocktails, highballs and classic serves including the Blushing Dawn Paloma and the Thums Up Sazerac. Beer lovers can also order Kingfisher Beer Towers, serving three litres of lager at the table, while a selection of alcohol-free drinks is also available.
A characterful space
Inside, the venue combines retro-industrial design with warm interiors, featuring exposed concrete, wood panelling and artwork from Liverpool artists alongside creatives from Bombay and across South Asia.
Music will also play a big role in the venue’s atmosphere, with resident DJs and playlists spanning funk, punk, hip-hop, Bollywood, disco and soul.
Following a busy launch week, Permit Room Liverpool is already shaping up to be one of the newest additions to Liverpool’s thriving food and drink scene.
