Special edition chocolate Everton doughnuts will be sold against Chelsea to support Blues charity

Special limited edition Everton blue doughnuts will be sold at this weekend’s match against Chelsea to support Everton in the Community.
Toffee doughnuts in club colours have become a huge fan favourite since the move to Hill Dickinson Stadium and now there’s a one-off chocolate variety raising money for charity.
The idea came from the Junior Fans’ Forum, young Blues aged 11 to 16, working with the Fan Engagement Team for Everton in the Community’s annual matchday this Saturday (March 21).
They were looking at creative ways of fundraising and the one-off doughnut was a clear winner.
In addition to being chocolate flavoured, the doughnuts will also have a chocolate cream filling, an edible EitC crest in the centre to represent Everton in the Community being at the heart of the community, blue and white icing as well as blue and white star sprinkles in a tribute to EitC being an award-winning charity.

Created in collaboration with club food and drink partner Aramark and suppliers Planet Doughnut, proceeds from each doughnut sold on the stadium’s concourses will go to EitC’s fundraising total.
They were officially launched ahead of the match in a Bake Off-style decorating challenge between players Charly Alcaraz, Dwight McNeil and Jake O’Brien – with Alcaraz coming out as the winner.
The biggest winner though will be the Blues official charity, which delivers more than 60 programmes across the city region, tackling a range of social issues including education, anti-social behaviour, dementia, poverty and disability.
Recognised as one of the top sporting charities in the country, Everton in the Community supports the most vulnerable and underprivileged in local communities by creating life-changing opportunities.

Sarah Hunter, fundraising manager for EitC, says the doughnuts are one of lots of things happening at the stadium on Saturday as part of the community takeover day.
She explains:
“We get a match each season from the club that’s dedicated to the community and we use it to raise funds and also awareness of what we deliver and the impact we have across the region.
“It’s also a way for us to celebrate the work that we do and say thank you to our supporters who are amazing.
“When the fixtures are released we work with the club and traditionally it’s always around February/March because that’s when our birthday is. This year it’s worked out really well because it’s Chelsea, there’s going to be blue skies and everybody’s thinking about the European places so there’s going to be a really positive atmosphere.
“There’ll be quite a lot going on at the Chelsea game, we’ve obviously got the doughnuts, bucket collections inside the plaza area, silent auctions in the premium hospitality spaces, and a prize draw which is live now for some signed Jordan Pickford shirts. We’ll also have Beat the Goalie, interaction darts and lots of other activities on the plaza.
“We usually raise about £30,000 at these community days which is a fantastic amount and it makes a huge difference for us and what we’re able to deliver.”
