Ainsdale Beach car park reopens with discounted season passes for locals
3 hours ago
Visitors heading to Ainsdale Beach will be able to park up once again as the beach car park reopens on Wednesday 1 April for the spring and summer season.
Run by Sefton Council, the popular coastal spot will welcome drivers daily through to 30 September, with gates open from 10am until 6pm (last entry 5pm), subject to tides, weather and special events.
Regular visitors can make the most of discounted season tickets, with Sefton residents able to park all season for £40. The same rate is available for hybrid and electric vehicles, while non-residents can pick up a pass for £80.
For day trippers, parking costs £10 per vehicle, while Blue Badge holders can park free of charge.
Season tickets can be booked online, with a cashless system in place for those paying on the day.
Staff will be on site throughout the season to help visitors, manage safety and protect the beach’s internationally important natural habitats. Anyone planning a trip is being advised to check for daily updates, particularly during poor weather or high tides.
Facilities including toilets will be available during the summer months, alongside a Changing Places unit which remains open all year.
Sefton Council’s Cabinet Member for Public Health and Wellbeing, Mhairi Doyle, said the scheme offers good value for regular visitors while supporting the coastline.
She said: “Sefton residents who regularly use parking at Ainsdale Beach can make substantial savings with a season ticket, as can drivers of more environmentally friendly vehicles.
“Funds raised from beach parking are used to support essential conservation work, facilities maintenance, staffing and long-term investment across our coastline.”
