Advertorial
Set over five floors and with a rich history of its own, it’s no surprise World Museum Liverpool is one of the most visited museums in the UK, winning top attraction titles.
And now it can add another accolade to the list, having been named Business Improvement District’s (BID) Business of the Month for April.
At any time of year, it’s a ‘must-see’ in the city. You can experience the wonders of life and the universe, finding out how humans have shaped the planet we live in; you can visit the Ancient Egypt gallery, dive into underwater life in its Aquarium – and blast off into the skies in its Space Gallery and Planetarium.
World Museum’s collections are among the most important and varied in Europe, containing everything from Impressionist paintings and rare beetles to a lifejacket from the Titanic! And there are loads of fascinating temporary exhibitions like Curly Blows, Cuts and Curls looking at hairstyles and hairdressers across the city – on until April 12! – and Vivienne Westwood: Designer in Focus, celebrating a remarkable career spanning over five decades.

It’s no wonder Liverpool loves it – including BID!
Ashley Cooke, Head of World Museum said:
“It’s fantastic to be nominated as April’s Business of the Month, World Museum receives over 550,000 visitors annually and remains a must-see venue all year round.
“A visit to the museum has become a beloved part of a day in Liverpool for generations of visitors and locals.”
Definitely worth a visit is the newly-reopened Dinosaurs and Natural World Gallery which has been given a brand-new name, Wild World: Dinosaurs and Natural History: “It’s really exciting to have the gallery back open again, with objects that visitors know and love alongside new, immersive technologies,” adds Ashley.
And here’s why it needs to be on your April – and Easter Holidays! – to-do list …
New showcases

With objects from World Museum’s botany, geology, entomology and zoology collections, the gallery has been refreshed with new showcases that offer a richer visitor experience and bring the natural world to life.
Amazing new worlds
Visitors can experience a glimpse into life in thick rainforests with hanging canopies, the lions and lionesses that prowl the savannahs of Africa, and the frozen, icy worlds of the Arctic, Antarctica and Patagonia.
Incredible experiences – and exhibits

You can journey past replicas of fearsome dinosaurs – there’s even some fossilised dinosaur droppings! – roam the freezing landscapes of polar pears and arctic foxes, and travel past buffalos and hyenas and rainforests that are bursting with life.
Mural magic
The refreshed display includes an updated version of a huge mural, first painted by local artist Tony Swift in 1987, and restored by scenic artist Holly Speakman alongside the dinosaur replicas.
Roarsome news

Following its success last year, World Museum will be hosting another Dino summer of events in the gallery – with another packed programme of prehistoric events and activities, so keep your eyes peeled for more details coming soon.
Easter’s eggs-citing at World Museum this April
There’s lots going on at World Museum in the Easter Holidays with the chance to experience feeding time and plunge beneath the surface of its underwater world in a behind-the-scenes tour of the Aquarium, get stuck into cracking craft activities, and more.
