Thailand-inspired Water Lantern Festival is heading to Liverpool
2 hours ago
A stunning celebration inspired by Thailand’s famous floating lantern tradition is heading to Merseyside this summer as the Water Lantern Festival lights up Birkenhead Park on 6 June.
Bringing the spirit of Chiang Mai’s world-famous lantern festival to the region, the immersive outdoor event will transform the park into a glowing display of floating lights, live music and family-friendly entertainment.

Visitors will be invited to write a personal message, wish or reflection before placing an eco-friendly lantern onto the water, creating a peaceful shared moment as hundreds of lanterns drift across the lake at sunset.
Alongside the lantern experience, guests can enjoy food from local traders, live performances and a relaxed atmosphere designed to bring people together.

The event is being co-produced by Fever and is suitable for all ages, giving families and friends the chance to experience a unique cultural tradition close to home.
Lantern kits, which include everything needed to take part.
