The good news is that there are loads of exciting events and activities that run throughout the holidays in Liverpool City Region and beyond, so you can keep your cool and look forward to fun times with the family.
Pokémon play at Speke Hall

Summer of Play returns to Speke Hall – and other National Trust venues – with loads of nature inspired activities from performance play, arts and crafts, and games … AND the chance to take on the Pokémon TCG Evolution Trail and unleash your energy on a Pokémon adventure. You just collect your trail sheet and get your team together to search the gardens for each Mega Evolution Pokémon, discover their powers, and complete your own challenges between now and September 6.

Martin Mere’s become a record breaker after opening Europe’s longest ever stepping stones. The brand-new attraction at the Burscough attraction is 68 metres long with 143 individual stepping stones, and families can wander across before wading through a sunken walkway and going in search of creatures and colourful plant life. Its popular Dragonfly Festival is also back from July 18 to August 31 with family-friendly activities from pond dipping to a dragonfly sculpture hunt to bubble parties, science shows, and more.

Beach Fest at Liverpool ONE

You can be beside the seaside without even leaving the city! Get ready for Beach Fest, when Chavasse Park will be transformed into an amazing summer hot spot from July 18 to August 31 complete with an urban sandy beach, family friendly rides and six weeks of entertainment and activities. That’s on top of the chance to Tickle the Ivories with everyone’s favourite piano event; ChessFest on July 19; a Minton Tile Reveal Trail, and Liverpool ONE’s heritage and nature Trails.

Step into the wild at Camp Knowsley

Camp Knowsley’s back for a summer packed with wild challenges, outdoor discoveries, and unforgettable family adventures at the famous safari park. From July 20 to August 31, you can head into its woodland camp and test your skills with bushcraft activities, campfire cooking, survival challenges, nature trails, and creative crafts. Can you brave the Bushtucker Challenge, master modern fire lighting techniques, or build a den?

Dino Takeover at World Museum Liverpool

The season’s set to be roarsome as dinosaurs prepare to take over on Wednesdays and Thursdays at World Museum throughout summer. There’s a packed programme of events from hands-on crafts and dino digs to storytelling sessions along with the chance to meet life-like dinosaur puppets as these prehistoric creatures roam through the museum. You can also visit world Museum’s newly reopened Wild World: Dinosaurs and Natural History gallery on the fourth floor and come face to face with full-size replica dinosaur skeletons.

Afterglow at Chester Zoo

Discover what Chester Zoo is like after hours, when Afterglow returns for evenings of colour, music, dancing and wonder from July 31 to August 16. Whether you’re making the most of a full day at the zoo with extra summer evening hours, or joining them from 3pm to 8pm it’s your chance to experience the zoo in its golden-hour glow with festival food and drink, ranger talks, roaming puppets, stilt walkers and pop-up performers, a silent disco and the chance to meet giant dinosaurs.
