Regeneration
Have your say on the future of Liverpool Central Station
51 minutes ago
The plans aim to create a more vibrant, accessible and well-connected destination while unlocking future investment and regeneration opportunities.
A new online engagement platform has launched to bring together information on the emerging Spatial Regeneration Framework (SRF) for the area, setting out a vision for how Central Station and its surrounding neighbourhood could evolve as a key gateway into the city centre.
The proposals aim to support a more vibrant, accessible and well-connected destination, unlocking opportunities for investment, growth and an improved experience for those who live, work and travel through the area.
The Liverpool Central project is being developed through a phased funding approach, combining public investment with the potential to unlock significant private sector backing.

Work is being supported by funding secured through the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority, alongside national backing through its status as a pilot for the Government’s reformed Green Book process — helping position the scheme for a potential multi-billion pound transformation.
At its heart, this is a growth project not just for the city but for the region with Central at the hub of the local rail network, tackling capacity issues while unlocking wider regeneration. The SRF ambition for the Liverpool Central area is to create a well-connected, high-quality gateway to the city centre — supporting new homes, jobs, public spaces and investment, and strengthening links across Liverpool and the wider region.
Designed to be clear and accessible, the online engagement has been optimised for mobile use, making it easier for people to explore the area, shape the long-term ambitions, and share their views.
Feedback will help shape the next stages of the project and inform how this important part of the city is transformed in the years ahead.
The engagement is currently scheduled to close on 19 July.
Councillor Nick Small, Cabinet Member for Growth and Economy, said:
“We want to make it as easy as possible for people to understand the proposals for the Central Station area and have their say on its future.
“This new platform brings together information on the emerging plans in a way that is clear and accessible, so I’d encourage everyone with an interest in the area to take a look and share their views.
“The feedback we receive will play an important role in helping to shape the next stages of the project.”
