If you’re looking to plan a night out, you’re totally spoiled for choice in Liverpool this month…
It doesn’t have to be all work and no play this September in Liverpool. It may be back to work, school and routine, but we’re still making the most of the brilliant events calendar on offer, right across the city. From food and drink at Sefton Park, Jim Royle taking over the Baltic Market, Daft Punk back catalogue by live orchestra and a big old Disney Cruise ship on the Mersey, there’s entertainment for everyone.
Here’s 25 things to do in Liverpool this September…
1 – Liverpool Food and Drink Festival
Taking place at Sefton Park on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th September, the Liverpool Food and Drink Festival returns for a delicious weekend of food, drink, music and more. Tickets and info here.Â
2 – Pirates on the Dock
There’s free, swashbuckling fun for all the family at Royal Albert Dock Liverpool as Pirates on the Dock festival returns for more live action on 15th-16th September. Expect adventure on the high sea (dock) street entertainment and more. Info here.Â
3 – Bongo’s Bingo with the Venga Boys
Venga Boys are back in town! Woooaahhhh Woooaahhh! What could possibly make Bongo’s Bingo, back in its spiritual home of Camp & Furnace, any more nuts?! How about the Venga Boys performing live on Wednesday 12th September? Tickets here.Â
4 – Ready to Die, Notorious BIG, 02 Academy
Biggie Small’s released some of the most revered music of the 90’s and now you can hear it in a whole new way as the 02 Academy hosts an orchestral rendition of Ready to Die, live on 22nd September. Tickets and more info here.Â
5 – Rooftop Cinema: The Greatest Showman & Closing Party, Shankly Hotel
The Skyline Rooftop Cinema is hosting an epic closing party on 14th September. Head to the Shankly Hotel roof for a special screening on The Greatest Showman, free popcorn, comfy beanbags, pop up bars and more. Info here.Â
6 – Liv Sync Battle, Camp & Furnace
Liv Sync Battle returns on 26th September where a whole host of brand new contestants will battle it out to be crowned Gob on Legs, in aid of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Charity. Come and join us for a fab night out while raising money for this local cause. Info here.Â
7 – Craig Charles Funk & Soul Club
Shrug off the back to work blues and get funky as Craig Charles brings his Funk and Soul Club back to the Baltic for another night of floor fillers. Brand new for this edition, Craig and The Hawkmen are performing live with special guests. Tickets here.Â
8 – Reminisce Festival 2018

9 – Afternoon Tea at NYL Restaurant & Cocktail Bar
Treat yourself and get together with the girls for an afternoon tea straight inspired by the Big Apple. 11 – Superstition, Queen of Soul Special, The Merchant
Did you know that Aretha Franklin won 18 Grammy’s! It’s no wonder The Merchant has dedicated a night of funk, soul and Motown to her on 22nd September. Prepare to sing along to every track and raise a glass to the dearly departed Queen of Soul. Info here.Â
12 – Daft Punk Orchestra, Invisible Wind Factory
Our second listing of a musical giant getting a rework this month is none other than electro pop legends, Daft Punk. Head to Invisible Wind Factory on 8th September to hear a 13 piece orchestra recreate the timeless tracks we know and love. Info and tickets here.Â
13 – The Mega Liverpool Horror Con
Back for another year of scaring the living daylights out of us, The Mega Liverpool Horror Con brings together the very best of memorabilia, props, merch and more, plus special guests, panel talks and plenty of scares. 14 – The Big Lebowski 20th Anniversary Screening, FACT
How can it be 20 years since The Big Lebowski came out at the flicks? To celebrate this momentous occasion, FACT is hosting a 20th anniversary screening dedicated to The Dude. Get your tickets for the 24th September event here.
15 – The Claire House Splash Dash Sefton Park
Back for it’s 6th year, the Claire House Splash Dash returns to Sefton Park on 22nd September for a rainbow coloured 5km that everyone can take part in. 17 – St George’s Hall Beer Festival
St George’s Hall will throw open it’s doors for its annual Beer Festival on 27th-29th September with Real Ale Events. You can sample 200 different ales plus a gin garden, spirits, wine and prosecco and live music too. Various sittings available across the three day festival. Booking here.Â
18 – Circus 16th Birthday
Yousef presents Circus16th Birthday with an all star line up at Camp & Furnace. This will be a birthday bash to remember as the likes of Sasha and Alan Fitzpatrick, Eats Everything and the iconic Larry Heard presenting Mr Fingers performs live on 29th September. All the info and tickets here.Â
19 – Raiders of the Lost Ark, Philharmonic Hall
