Wreckfish Offers a Veritable Vegan Feast
Veganuary may have been and gone but Gary Usher’s Wreckfish is offering an exclusive four-course vegan menu with snacks and sweets on Tuesday, 6th March.
With a reported 120,000 people pledging to give up meat and dairy products in January and Google saying that the search term ‘vegan’ is at an all-time high in the UK, veganism appears to be much more than a short-lived trend.
Famed for its unique take on classic bistro dishes, Wreckfish has announced a dinner on 6th March, featuring an exclusively vegan menu. With help from indie wine bar, Bunch, the menu will be paired with a vegan wine flight.
The menu includes:
Homemade bread, roast pumpkin spread and toasted seeds
Spiced lentil, baked carrot, baba ganoush
Roast cauliflower, burnt apple puree, crisp capers
Wild mushroom and spinach strudel, roast shallot, cavalo nero, ‘black pudding’, parsnip puree
Dark chocolate sorbet
Caramelised pineapple in rum and star anise, peanut crumb, banana and almond milk ice cream (n)
Gary Usher comments: “We’re finding more and more people are asking for vegan dishes in the restaurants and so we’re really excited to see what Liverpool makes of our first ever vegan evening. Head Chef Luke and Sous Chef James have done an amazing job with the menu and it’s great to work alongside our friends at Bunch to offer a great vegan wine flight. You’re in for a great night.”
