What’s on in Liverpool? Your Guide to the week ahead (2nd – 8th October 2017)

Right October, lets line up another amazing weekend in the best city in the world!

This week we’ve got some autumn dishes, some theatre magic and some musical gold for you to enjoy pus a weekend full of events to either glam up or mooch about. From a big old 90’s reminisce at the Echo Arena and Million Dollar Men shaking what their mommas gave them to chilled out tapas in the suburbs and a bit of pumpkin picking with the kids, there’s something for everyone.

Monday 2nd October

Lunch at Unit 51, Baltic Triangle

The weather is today is typically Autumnal so we’re heading down to the cosy Unit 51 for a big old bowl of soup and plenty of fresh bread (and probably a slab of cake too!) Click here to check out the menu and pull up a pew for a warming lunch and chill out.

Why Aye! Joe plays Joseph at the Liverpool Empire

Former X Factor Winner and all round lovely Geordie, Joe McElderry brings the West End musical hit, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat to the Liverpool Empire this week and we’re well up for a singalong! Tickets and info here. 

Dizzee Rascal plays the O2 Academy

Go on admit it, like us you know an impressive amount of Dizzee Racal lyrics! Multi-platinum-selling, multiple-award winning hip hop star, and all round London Lad, Dizzee Rascal is back with his first album in four years, Raskit, and plays the O2 Academy tonight. Tuesday 3rd October

Tuesday Brunch at Muster Custom Coffee, Argyle Street

Do we really need to write words here? Just look at those plates of amazingness. What better way to start a blustery Tuesday than at Muster Custom Coffee, a unique coffee shop and hang out on Argyle Street (two mins from Liverpool One) tucking into a hearty brunch. Woodlands Hospice presents, Lip Sync Battle at Camp & Furnace

We’re back down the Baltic Triangle on Wednesday night as our very own Jay Hynd introduces a host of scouse acts from across the city battling it out to be named Woodland Hospices’ Gob On Legs 2017. They’ve been smashing the choreography training and the costumes are out of this world. Get your tickets and bring your hairbrushes, it’s gonna get messy! 

Born Slippy at The Buyers Club

Into your trance music? Course you are, its what Wednesday nights are all about in the city. Get down to The Buyers Club from 11pm for Born Slippy, after the success of the pervious nights this is expecting to sell out. Youngblood Brass Band at Invisible Wind Factory

Experience something different this Thursday night as Youngblood take over the Invisible Wind Factory. Having headlined countless tours in the States and abroad, selling out dates in over 20 countries. Their festival record reads like a list of the heaviest music events in the world: Roskilde, Glastonbury, Lowlands and more. Friday 6th October

Friday Fiesta at Revolucion De Cuba, Albert Dock

Million Dollar Men invade CIRCO, Seel Street

Oh yes, the Magic Mike experiences comes to Liverpool this week as CIRCO, Seel Street hosts Million Dollar Men and unsurprisingly there’s not many tickets left for this Fridays performance. I love the 90’s hits the Echo Arena

Were going for a chilled out Friday night down Lark Lane this weekend because basically, the tapas there are amazing! The chilled out atmosphere, great service and menus bursting with flavour is a perfect comboination for a night out in the suburbs. Menus and more here.

Saturday 7th October

Vintage Fashion at The Shipping Forecast

Pillbox Vintage is back for its usual first Saturday of the month Vintage Fair, only this time it’s going to be bigger and better than ever before! Expect independent vintage stalls; selling everything from women’s and men’s vintage clothing, vinyl and jewellery, to hats, sunglasses and shoes as well as workshops and the chance to have a gab with the sellers. Smithdown Road All Dayer at Handyman Pub

Smithdown Road Festival is staging a mini event this Saturday, just to tide us over until the main one next year. From 10:30 on Saturday you can check out Martial Arts displays, street food, live acoustic music, arts and crafts and more, right across the weekend. Wrap and up and get involved. Voodoo at Alma De Cuba, Seel Street

Capstan’s Bazaar at the Baltic Market

Have a wander down to Baltic Market this Sunday for a mooch about more than 20 stalls, selling everything from prints to postcards, t-shirts to tea cosies and upcycled china to hand-nurtured cacti!
