R CHARITY: Come inside the New Royal Liverpool Hospital

Watch as R Charity take you inside the brand New Royal set to open very soon.

The new Royal will be a world-class hospital. It will have 18 theatres and 23 wards, a large clinical research facility and a 40-bedded intensive therapy unit. The emergency department will also be one of largest in the North West with a CT scanner and special lifts which go straight to theatres for major trauma patients. ​

There will be an underground car park for patients and visitors and buses will come onto the site, enabling better and easier access to the hospital. The new Royal will also be the largest in the country to provide all single en-suite bedrooms for patients.

Landscaping and green space on the site will be about the same size as Chavasse Park.  Additionally, the hospital will be one of the greenest in the country with renewable energy systems and low carbon technology.
