Beauty and the Beast brings half term magic to St Helens Theatre Royal

The timeless fairytale Beauty and the Beast is set to enchant audiences at St Helens Theatre Royal this February half-term.

Running from 15 – 23 February 2025, Beauty and the Beast will transport audiences to a world of enchantment, laughter, and love, complete with stunning sets, vibrant costumes, and an unforgettable soundtrack.

Expect side-splitting comedy, show-stopping performances, and a heartwarming tale as the beautiful Belle falls for a mysterious prince cursed to live as a hideous beast.

But can he learn to love and be loved in return before the spell becomes permanent?

Bringing this beloved fairytale to life is a fantastic cast of pantomime favourites:

  • Lauren McCrory as Belle: Returning to the role she previously performed at St Helens and Liverpool’s Epstein Theatre, Lauren’s stage credits also include Peter Pan and Cinderella.
  • Lewis Burrage as the Beast: Fresh from his role as Prince in Sleeping Beauty, Lewis is an Italia Conti graduate with experience in musical theatre and cruise performances.
  • Conor Barrie as Gaston: A Liverpool Theatre School graduate, Conor has performed in Goldilocks and the Three BearsAladdin, and Jack and the Beanstalk.
  • Lewis Devine as French Frank: A much-loved Liverpool performer, Lewis has previously starred in Snow WhiteSleeping Beauty, and Cinderella, alongside running The Devine Theatre Company.
  • Rachel Wood as Madam Botox: A LIPA-trained actor with credits in CinderellaThe Chaplin Story, and Sleeping Beauty, Rachel brings a wealth of experience to the stage.
  • Chantelle Morgan as Fairy Rose: Following her starring role in Snow White, Chantelle returns to St Helens after sharing the stage with Luke Evans and performing in Sister Act and Bring It On: The Musical.
  • Richard Aucott as Potty Polly: A panto veteran, Richard has played hilarious dames in productions of AladdinJack and the Beanstalk, and Snow White, as well as appearing in Twelfth Night and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Theatre Manager and the show’s director Chantelle Nolan said: 

“Beauty and the Beast is one of our best-loved pantos, a magical delight, packed with excitement, spectacle and fun, so I’m absolutely thrilled we’re bringing it back to the stage for our family audiences at St Helens this February.

“I’m also delighted we’ve got such a wonderful cast of Panto favourites. Add in lavish costumes and sets, brilliant choreography and a great soundtrack, and Beauty and the Beast has all the ingredients to make it an unmissable half term treat.”
