Carlisi confirms new restaurant opening in Allerton
2 years ago
Carlisi has been a favourite amongst the Italian community, and locals, in Liverpool since they opened their doors on Dale Street in 2018.
Brothers, Alessio and Federico Carlisi, opened the bar with a dream of bringing authentic Italian food and drinks to the people of Liverpool.
Now, Carlisi plans to share their Sicilian hospitality to the community of Allerton Road next month, as they take over the site previously held by Maray.
Alessio Carlisi, owner, said:
âI came to Liverpool in 2009, and I didnât know any English. I was blown away by the people more than anything. [Scousers] are so friendly and helpful, it has been a great place to learn and grow.
âIâm so thankful for this city and the opportunities it has given me and my brother, we canât wait to share this new venture with everyone.â
The Sicilian brothers have built a reputation for their authentic approach over the years, they won âBest Aperitivoâ at The Italian Awards just 12 months after their launch.
Theyâre passionate about bringing the flavours of their hometown to the people of Liverpool. They even import oranges and lemons from their familyâs farm for use in their own brand of Carlisi Gin – named after their hometown of Agrigento.
Alessio told The Guide:
âAt Carlisi, our customers are our friends, and our staff are our family. We want to do everything we can to make them happy.
âWeâre proud to say that we go above and beyond to ensure that every customer has an experience to remember, whether theyâre calling in for a quick coffee or spending an evening indulging in a deli platter and a bottle of the finest Italian wine.â
The Allerton restaurant gives Carlisi a chance to create a new and expanded menu – including some of the brotherâs own family pasta recipes – something which regulars to the Dale Street bar are âreally looking forward toâ.Â
Alessio said:
âIt is something that we have been planning for a long time, a full restaurant to show off our love for good Sicilian food. We love our street food concept, and that will still be available at our Dale Street bar, this is about taking the next step to give our customers more variety.
âWe have been working really hard to make an exceptional menu. Liverpool is our adopted home, and we want nothing but the best for this city.â
Hoping to open the restaurant in mid-April, Carlisi are confident they will be able to replicate the the same family feel, that Dale Street has, in Allerton. With their produce and authenticity making them unique, theyâre proud to represent the best of what Sicilian cuisine has to offer.
Federico Carlisi, owner, said:
âWeâre proud of our heritage, and we import a lot of our products directly from suppliers around Italy. The arancini we sell are actually handmade in Sicily by a member of our own family.
âWe are so excited to be opening our second site on Allerton Road, we know the area has quality independent businesses, and we cannot wait to be a part of it.â
Carlisi Allerton will open in April, more details will about announced on their social media here.
