Last chance to visit two iconic Liverpool Museums before their major redevelopment ❤️

Liverpool’s International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum are set to close their doors on 5 January 2025 for essential repair and maintenance works, ahead of an incredible redevelopment project.

Visitors have just six weeks left to explore the two Liverpool Museums before they temporarily close, with reopening scheduled for 2028.

The redevelopment of International Slavery Museum and Maritime Museum is part of the wider Waterfront Transformation Project which aims to link storytelling, heritage, community and hospitality to create a rich visitor experience and be a catalyst for social and environmental improvements in the area.

Merseyside Police has launched its annual Christmas campaign to protect local communities. 🎄

The public will see plenty of officers from neighbourhood policing teams out at busy spots across Merseyside. Officers will be sharing useful crime prevention advice and encouraging members of the public to become a ‘Christmas Crime Cracker’ by taking simple security measures to protect their possessions, such as security marking valuable items – a proven method to deter thieves and help recover stolen property.

The London Carriageworks has been serving up some of the best food in Liverpool for over twenty years.

Launching in 2003 as part of the Hope Street Hotel, the restaurant fast became one of the city’s favourites. And has since been awarded two AA Rosettes and holds an AA Notable Wine award.

Last week we visited for the first time in ages, and we were not disappointed. We chose from the A La Carte menu and both the service and the food were some of the best we’ve experienced in Liverpool. 👌

Alder Hey hosted their annual Christmas Lights Switch-On this afternoon. 🎄✨

Jay & Gemma from The Guide were joined by 8-year-old George who since receiving a life-saving operation on his heart at Alder Hey, has turned to fundraising for the hospital.

There were performances from Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Knotty Ash Signing Choice, Alder Hey Youth Forum and Bethany Webster.

Cult-favourite Mexican Burrito Bar boojum will open its doors on Bold Street in December.

Jay went to Dublin to get a taste of what you can expect from the burrito-loving venue.

Liverpool’s been on Boojum’s wish list for years, and with the city’s strong Irish ties, it was only a matter of time. Fun fact: it’s been the most requested spot outside of Ireland with die-hard Boojum fans taking to social media to voice their opinions, so it’s safe to say Boojum listened and Liverpool’s about to level up its Mexican food scene.

The restaurant launches early December and we can’t wait for you to tuck in too.
