One of Liverpool’s oldest warehouses ‘Clockworks’ reopens following stunning transformation

Three ambitious young entrepreneurs from Liverpool have reopened the city centre bar Clockworks, unveiling their vision to transform it into one of the city’s most sophisticated venues.

The 21-year-olds, Rhys Keeley, Jack Ruttledge, and Ethan Cowling, have extensive experience across various industries. Rhys and Jack run LVP Luxury Apartments, a successful apart-hotel business, as well as Parydise Properties, a nationwide property management company. Ethan brings expertise from his construction and social media businesses. Together, they’ve combined their skills to breathe new life into one of Liverpool’s oldest warehouses.

Clockworks reopened in number 11 Wolstenholme Square in late December after a stunning refurbishment and the trio plan to relaunch the restaurant by the end of February, aiming to make it one of the best steakhouses in Liverpool.

Rhys Keeley said:

“We want to revitalise a lost gem and create a classy venue offering great experiences for dining, drinks, music, and good times. This is about more than business—it’s about restoring a historic part of Liverpool and giving the community something to be proud of.”

The bar now opens daily from 12 PM, offering high-quality wines, unique signature cocktails, and specialty coffees. The menu, set to launch soon, will feature a focus on premium steak cuts, including both wagyu and Black Angus, sourced from trusted local suppliers. More news on this will be released when the restaurant opens.

“Our goal is to provide exceptional quality and service,” adds Rhys. “We want to build a community of steak enthusiasts who appreciate refined dining and a premium experience.”

Set in a refurbished 18th-century merchant house where Parr Street opens out into the rejuvenated Square, the interior of Clockworks celebrates its industrial heritage with original features like exposed iron pipes and brickwork, while modern updates, such as sleek new flooring, warm lighting installations and luxurious marble bathrooms elevate the space.

The ambiance will feature live jazz and acoustic music, enhancing the classy and welcoming atmosphere.

Ethan Cowling shares:

“We’ve heard so many stories about Wolstenholme Square being a central part of Liverpool’s history. We want Clockworks to be a place where new memories are made—a venue that combines the best of the past with a modern, refined touch.”

Clockworks is now open from 12 PM to 12 AM Monday to Friday, and 12 PM to 1 AM on weekends, welcoming those who value a luxurious yet inviting environment.
