Everton in the Community is asking fans to ‘Be Sound, Bring A Pound’ for its 36th birthday

Everton in the Community will celebrate its 36th birthday at next week’s home game against Crystal Palace on Monday 19 February and the Club’s charitable arm is calling on Evertonians to support them in their fundraising efforts and ‘Be Sound, Bring A Pound’.

EitC staff and volunteers will be out in force on Monday evening armed with buckets and asking fans to spare £1 as the charity aims to raise £40,000 on the night to represent the capacity of Goodison Park. Monies raised will be channeled into developing Everton in the Community’s life-changing work in Liverpool 4 and beyond.

Established in 1988, Everton in the Community has been providing a lifeline to those most in need across Liverpool City Region for more than three decades, helping to create brighter futures and stronger communities through its innovative and impactful delivery.

The Club’s charity – who has supported tens of thousands of individuals through 60+ different programmes and initiatives over the last 12 months – is also offering supporters not attending Monday night’s game or perhaps looking to donate in the build-up to the game the chance to show their support by donating online here.

A £1 donation will generate more than £29 in social value for Everton in the Community; social value is the calculation of benefits created by an organisation as part of their everyday output and takes into account the value for money created by the charity but also the wider benefit to society through the direct impact on people’s lives, the economy and the environment.

In social value terms, your £1 donation could provide travel passes for a group of young people to get to college, helping them stay in education or provide a course of one-to-one English lessons for a refugee who has been placed in Liverpool, helping them integrate into the local community. Your donation could also help the charity deliver a reminiscence workshop to individuals living with dementia or PE kits for children living in poverty.

In addition to the charity asking fans to donate to their mass bucket collection and ‘Be Sound, Bring A Pound’, Everton in the Community will also be celebrating its annual birthday fixture with 11 junior mascots and one Toffee Lady who will be escorting Sean Dyche’s starting 11 out at Goodison Park to the roaring sound of Z-Cars and players will be showing their continued support to the charity by warming up in Everton in the Community t-shirts.
