Find occasion wear from all over the world at Fairytale Endings inside Metquarter Liverpool
2 years ago
It’s not just the bride who can say yes to the dress.
At Fairytale Endings in Liverpool’s Metquarter there’s a fantastic collection of occasion wear from all over the world to help you look fabulous, whether you’re attending a prom, sailing off on a cruise, or going to a party or celebration dinner.
And with rails filled with more than 1,000 dresses, chances are if you can’t find you’re looking for here – it simply doesn’t exist!
“For any special occasion, we’re a one-stop shop,” says owner Gill O’Neill. “We have got dresses from designers all over the world, from the US, from Europe, from Australia and, of course, the UK.
“And we have become a destination store with customers coming from as far away as Scotland, the Isle of Man, and Southampton, because we have such a huge choice, as well as more unusual items that you can’t find anywhere else, and always of a high quality.”
Fairytale Endings was so called because that’s what customers get when they find the perfect gown: “It sums up what the shop is all about,” says Gill. “When you’re looking for a dress for that special occasion, like a prom, or a wedding, or a birthday, it’s really important that it’s perfect and it is the end of the dream. We want to make people’s Fairytale Endings come true.”
But it’s also the Fairytale Ending for Gill too.
“Opening my own shop is something I had always wanted to do, so it’s my dream come true as well.”
After a successful career in the fashion industry including roles in buying and product development, Gill opened a prom dress shop in St Helens, followed by another in Wigan, before deciding to open a store in Liverpool and focus just on that.
She opened Fairytale Endings in the Metquarter in 2020 and, in spite of the pandemic and second lockdown which came soon after, its success and popularity has grown.
Gill puts that down to the variety on offer with everything for the whole bridal party – bride, mother of the bride, flower girl, page boy and so on – to Christenings, communions, proms, evening dinners, special birthdays, cruises, balls, and more.
With an array of top designers always stocked, Gill is constantly introducing new names too, including, for bridal wear, Anny Lin and Ricca Sposa ‘which I’m very excited about’, Spanish occasion wear from Sonia Pena and designs by German designer Ana Alcazar, all complementing evening wear from names like Jovani, Ellie Wilde and Angel Forever.
Located in a prestigious location like The Metquarter, Gill says she is one of a number of independents working hard to make their businesses grow, by offering the best possible customer service and experience.
And she adds: “We have stylists who can help the customer find the ideal dress, in a colour that suits their skin tone, in a size and shape that suits them, and we have sizes from 4 to 28 so we have something for everyone.
“We also have an alterations service in store to ensure the perfect fit and that everybody looks wonderful, whatever their occasion.
“That’s why our lovely customers come – and come back, again and again.”
