It was always a theatre-lovers dream, heading off to London to the West End to see a show – but thankfully these days you don’t have to get on board a capital-bound train to see some of the UK’s best stage productions…
Just head to New Brighton!
The Floral Pavilion has got some amazing shows throughout the next season, aimed at everyone from little kids to rock ‘n’ roll music lovers.
So get your diaries out or your calendars poised, because it’s curtains up on some crackers from this autumn onwards.
The Signalman

Popular telly actors Chris Walker and John Burton star in this nerve-tingling Dickens thriller about a signalman who’s haunted by visions of impending disaster. This new extended adaptation of Middle Ground Theatre Company’s hugely successful production has had rave reviews, not least for actors Chris – best-known for roles in Doctors, The Bill, Corrie and Merseybeat – and John – Sgt Goodfellow Father Brown and Alan Gordon in Brookside, whose performances will stir your souls and have you shuffling nervously to the edge of your seat. It’s on from Thursday, October 23 to Saturday, October 25.
Shawshank Redemption

Topping the polls as the nation’s favourite film, Shawshank Redemption transfers beautifully on to the stage in this superb production whichexamines friendship and hope behind the claustrophobic bars of a maximum-security facility. Based on Stephen King’s 1982 novella, Ben Onwukwe and Joe McFadden take on the roles of unlikely pals Red and Andy Dufresne, made famous in the film by Morgan Freeman and Tim Robbins. Bill Ward is bully Warden Stammas. Catch this from Tuesday, November 4 to Saturday, November 8.
Peppa Pig’s Big Family Show

Packed full of music, adventure and surprises for little ones this is the perfect introduction to theatre as the pink princess and friends return in a brand-new stage show. With a new arrival on the way the whole family are busy getting ready. With building and decorating work to be done, it’s an oinktastic makeover and Peppa Pig, Mummy Pig, Daddy Pig and George need help to get everything ready before the arrival of baby Evie. It on Saturday and Sunday, November 1-2.
Murder at Midnight

Another fabulous cast as Susie Blake ad Jason Durr star in this comedy thriller by acclaimed playwright Torben Betts. Susie (Victoria Wood’s as Seen on TV and Coronation Street) and Jason (Heartbeat and Casualty) play gangster Jonny ‘The Cyclops’ and his mum, Shirley, in this truly twisted crime caper. It’s New Year’s Eve in a quiet corner of Kent and a killer is in the house … there’s also a suitcase full of cash, a stash of deadly weapons, and one infamous unsolved murder. What could possibly go wrong? Tuesday, February 24 to Saturday, February 28, 2026.
Buddy – The Buddy Holly Story

A sensational multi award-winning West End show which first opened in 1989, The Buddy Holly Story’s been thrilling audiences around the world ever since – and the Floral Pavilion is excited it’s on its way there. It’s a fantastically feel-good show that tells of the story of the rock and roll hero from his rockabilly beginnings to stardom and his legendary final performance, and features two hours of some of the greatest songs ever written from That’ll Be The Day, Oh Boy, Rave On, and La Bamba, to Chantilly Lace, Johnny B. Goode, Raining In My Heart, and more! You can see this from Tuesday, March 10 to Saturday, March 14.
