First look inside Emily’s, the new botanical themed café bar in Formby
2 years ago
We take a first look at Emily’s, the gorgeous new botanical themed café bar in Formby.
Emily’s is the classy new hangout that opened in Formby today.
The gorgeous bar and restaurant has moved into a former bank in the village, serving everything from brunch, to sandwiches, small plates, desserts and cocktails.
Emily’s opened just in time for Formby’s Christmas lights switch on, following a £2 million renovation of the historic former Nat West building.
It boasts an outdoor terrace, exposed beams and plants galore, which all combine to create an atmospheric and cosy venue.
The terrace has a pretty water feature and is heated and covered to keep out the winter chill at the moment, but will be opened up to the sunshine for summer 2023.
While the Mediterranean inspired re-fit is stunning, the menu is equally as impressive.
There are brunch options for all, from muesli to Moroccan eggs and mushrooms, and so much in-between, including traditional and plant based fry ups for an indulgent weekend treat.
There is a mouthwatering selection of sandwiches, nutrition bowls and sides of fries.
If you have a sweet tooth, the pancake stack is a must and there is also French toast with cinnamon and blueberry compote.
The evening small plate menu includes breads and mezzos like tzatziki plates and goats cheese, charcuterie boards, a range of meat dishes including steak, fish dishes and a plentiful vegan and vegetarian menu.
You can also enjoy oysters if the mood takes you.
There is a great cocktail menu too, as well as a range of smoothies. The beer choices include Madri and Blue Moon and there is an extensive choice of wines.
Emily’s is the latest addition to Formby’s social scene which is enjoying a bit of a renaissance of late.
It sits across the road from the family run Tin Shed bar and just a few minutes walk from café bars Dapa and Lux 37 – which is also homed in a former bank – and established names like Woodwards, Left Bank and Sorrento.
And if the first evening is anything to go by, Emily’s is going to prove very popular, with most tables filled by 5.30pm.
