Free bank holiday fun for families at Stanley Park Garden Party
7 years ago
There’s a huge family fun day coming to Stanley Park this bank holiday weekend and you’re invited!
We’re constantly on the look out for family friendly days out that wont break the bank and this summer holidays you’re invited to bring your picnic blanket and favourite snacks as Stanley Park’s Summer Garden Party returns on Saturday 26th August for a day of free activities and live entertainment.
From 12pm-3pm, visitors will be able to enjoy a wide variety of activities for all ages, including a wide range of crafts, martial arts, yoga and wildlife workshops and even a teddy bears picnic.
The packed programme includes live performances on The Isla Gladstone bandstand throughout the afternoon from the energetic Staged Kaos as well as Liverpool musicians Eleanor Nelly and Limerance. Circus arts organisation Free Fall will be also be on hand entertaining little ones with their popular skill sessions.
Positivity Inc will be providing the whole family with fun and creative workshops on yoga and mindfulness and kids will have a wild time with the RSPB bug hunts, discovering creatures that have made Stanley Park their home. Foundation Martial Arts will also be on site with their Little Ninjas taster sessions, introducing children to traditional Japanese martial arts through movement, music, language, fun and games.
Kids will also be able to screen print with Square Pegs creative workshops, and join the Bookworm Players storytelling at their Teddy’s Bear Picnic. Families are invited to bring a picnic or can pick something up from Kemp’s Bistro who will be serving their popular ‘Afternoon Tea To Go Boxes’ amongst lots of other tasty treats.
The event was held for the first time last year and was hailed as a huge success; one that Rachael O’Byrne, Stanley Park Community and Park Animation Manager is looking forward to building upon in 2017, she said: “Last year’s party was a fantastic event that showcased Liverpool’s hidden gem- our beautiful park and welcomed people from across the city to enjoy live music, crafts, storytelling, yoga and games. We can’t wait to do it all again this year with even more people!”
The event, organised by Stanley Park Liverpool CIC, will be held on Saturday 26th August from 12-3pm and is free to attend. Follow @Stanleypark_liv on Twitter for updates.
