The city will be buzzing, especially for Ladies Day on Friday and the National on Saturday, and the Rainford Square venue is putting up big screens so everyone can cheer on their favourites.
It will be open from 12 noon on both days, so you can grab a seat in one of the viewing areas before it all starts, and it doesn’t close until 1am so if your horses do come home ahead of the field there’s lots of time to celebrate.
No need to get all dressed up in your gladrags and best suits, just come as you are and get ready to experience Liverpool’s most amazing day at the races with a few added extras.
There’s a massive bar downstairs which will have five screens especially for the weekend and a second one upstairs with another two so there’s plenty to choose from.
And, if you’ve already got your tickets and you’re actually heading to Aintree, the fun doesn’t have to end once you leave the course – come back into town (even if it’s in your flip-flops!) because Roxy Ball Room is all set up to keep the party going.
You don’t need to play, you can just get the beers and some cocktails in, and if all the excitement’s made you hungry then their fabulous pizza slice and fries deal is always a good bet at £5.50.
But Roxy Ball Room is much more than just a regular bar, so if you do want a challenge – either in between races or after the last one’s been run – then you can take your pick from bowling, ping-pong, golf, pool, shuffleboard and basketball or beer pong.
There’s no booking needed if you’re just there to watch the racing and have a drink, but if you do want to make sure you can have a game, it’s a good idea to book lanes and tables in advance online because it’ll definitely be a busy weekend.
The Grand National’s all about creating heroes and winners so this is your chance to watch the world’s greatest race then get gaming and see who’s really got the best form – don’t be a non-starter!
