Homegrown theatre talent celebrated at The Lantern

Homegrown @ The Lantern is selection of local companies and theatre groups based in the Merseyside area. The Lantern Theatre first ran this festival in August 2015 with the intention to give local companies the chance to perform developing work with no financial risk.

There is no hire fee or cost to the companies who perform at the festival and all ticket monies are given to the companies involved. This festival is currently funded solely by the Lantern Theatre with no funding assistance.

The Lantern takes great pride in supporting local grass root theatre and the arts and this is one of their initiatives to drive this forward.

Places at the festival are awarded on an application basis. For the first one we had 10 applications, this year we had over 20 applications and we hope this continues to grow, with a third festival planned for August 2016.

The 2nd Homegrown festival will run from Monday 18th to Friday 22nd of January 2016. There will be two performances per night. Ticket prices will be ÂŁ6.50/5.50 per show or ÂŁ10.50/7.50 multi-pass for both shows.
