Kate Stewart to open The Sandon every Tuesday and Thursday to help families during the cost of living crisis

Liverpool businesswoman Kate Stewart wants to help the community this winter amidst the cost of living crisis which is putting immense pressure on families.

Owner of The Sandon Complex, Kate will be opening up the Acorn Suite within the venue that seats up to 200 people every Tuesday and Thursday from next Tuesday 8th November (subject to football fixtures) from 4.30pm-8pm.

Children will eat free and adults can purchase a bowl of soup and a bread roll for £2.50 with unlimited cups of tea for all.

Kate and her team at The Sandon are encouraging families, friends, the elderly and children alike to come together where she’ll have the heating blazing and hot drinks available, whilst taking away the worry for those who are struggling during the cost of living crisis so that they don’t have to heat and light up their homes or feed their children.

It’s also a fantastic way for anyone who is feeling lonely to meet others with Kate creating a community feel with films from Sky Movies being shown.

Kate Stewart, owner of The Sandon, explained: ‘I can’t bear the thought of families worrying about their bills, feeding their children and essentially choosing between heating or eating this winter. By coming to The Sandon for two nights of the week, where the heating and electricity will be on, children will eat free and adults can access unlimited cups of tea, I hope to take away some of the anxiety around the rising cost of living.

“The Acorn Suite seats up to 200 peopled everyone is welcome; families, friends, children, the elderly, I want to support as many people as possible and urge anyone in a privileged position with their own venue to do something similar. We all have a social responsibility and I simply cannot sit back and watch people struggle, even more so than usual, this winter.”
