LFC Foundation welcomes clubs from across the UK for Unity is Strength event

LFC Foundation joined with Manchester United, Rangers and Burnley club charities for the second ‘Unity is Strength’ event.

In collaboration with the Hillsborough Survivors Support Alliance (HSA), it brought together members of the respected communities affected by tragedy and supporters in a shared commitment to challenge tragedy related abuse and promote respect, remembrance and solidarity.

The day began with an eight-team walking football tournament won by Northern Lights Parkinson’s Group and youth coaching sessions for 72 young players across the U8-U13 age groups. The sessions were overseen by LFC former players David Fairclough, Tash Dowie and Becky Easton alongside John Brown, former Rangers player and current club ambassador.

Participants then took part in an educational workshop led by the HSA, where those directly affected by tragedy shared their personal experiences and highlighted the lasting impact of tragedy chanting.

LFC has been at the forefront of trying to eradicate tragedy chanting from the game, and continues to work with other clubs, the Premier League, and all relevant authorities to achieve this aim.
