Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival is gearing up for a spectacular finale at the Pier Head, welcoming families to join in on the fun on Monday, August 26.
Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival aims to support the complete refurbishment of Ronald McDonald House at Alder Hey, a vital accommodation facility for families with critically ill children in hospital.
Children’s tickets for the final day festivities will be priced at £5, with free entry for children aged 0-5. Tickets will go on sale starting Friday, May 10 at 5.00pm.
Ronald McDonald House Alder Hey, also known as MacHouse, has been providing free accommodation to families for over 30 years. The urgent need for a major refurbishment to enhance family support and ensure the long-term sustainability of the accommodation has led to this partnership with Liverpool Celebrates.
The new partnership with Ronald McDonald House will see Liverpool Celebrates support the charity by fundraising via various channels for the whole weekend.
Ronald McDonald House Charities UK Senior Corporate Partnerships Manager, Janet Pennington, said:
“We are delighted Liverpool Celebrates has partnered with our charity as we work towards a major refurbishment of our Alder Hey House, ensuring thousands of local families with a child in hospital have a comforting ‘home away from home’ to stay in, completely free-of-charge.
“The festival is set to be an iconic event and the partnership shows a true Liverpool spirit of compassion and generosity to local people and charities.

Taking place across the August Bank Holiday (Friday 23 – Monday 26 August), Liverpool Celebrates will commemorate the 10 year anniversary of the last Mathew Street Festival on the Sunday and Monday with dozens of acts to perform across the music extravaganza.
The final day of the festival culminates with a specially curated Cavern Club Takeover: a celebration of artists who have performed at the Cavern over the decades, including Dios Salve A La Reina, the legendary Queen tribute band, as well as tributes to The Beatles, Elton John, The Who and Adele. There will also be activities and entertainment for children and families.
