Liverpool Celebrates to host competition at CONTENT for chance to play on the same stage as The Jacksons

Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival is hosting the final round of a unique music competition this month.
Liverpool Celebrates Mathew Street Festival will give two emerging artists the chance to perform on the Pier Head stage, opening for The Jacksons during the festival in August.
The competition, a ‘Battle of the Artists’ style contest, will be held at Content in Cains Brewery Village on May 22.
The showcase of young talent, will be judged by a panel including BBC DJ Dave Monks, Kevin McManus (Head of UNESCO City of Music), and renowned musicians Esco Williams and Rheana Forrester.
From hundreds of entries, the judges have selected a final 10 contestants who will compete live in front of both the panel and an audience.
The event, starting at 7.00pm and free to attend, offers an incredible platform for these artists. The two winners of the night will secure a coveted spot to perform at Pier Head on Saturday evening during the festival. You can book your tickets HERE.
The final will support Fans Supporting Foodbanks and organisers are kindly asking for food donations on the night to support the charity.
The final 10 includes Esme Bridie; Clionagh Mclaughlin; Motel Sundown; Lucy Ellen; Kate Nicholas; Simon Howard; Corin Murphy; Tom Lloyd; Paul O’Keefe and George Weston.
Taking place across the August Bank Holiday (Friday 23 – Monday 26 August), Liverpool Celebrates commemorates the 10 year anniversary of the last Mathew Street Festival, with The Jacksons, now comprised of brothers Jackie, Tito and Marlon, set to headline the Saturday, joined by a spectacular 10 piece live band.
The Jacksons will perform legendary tracks such as Blame It On The Boogie, I Want You Back, ABC and Can You Feel It after Boyzlife – the Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy supergroup -rock the Pier with acclaimed Boyzone and Westlife number ones.
Jonny Bongo, of the popular worldwide Bongo’s Bingo event, will also bring his Festival Experience to the Dock with N-Trance also set to take the stage for a lively set, with the winner of the competition set to warm up the crowd for an unforgettable evening of entertainment.

Liverpool Celebrates Festival is set to attract thousands of visitors to the city and will provide a huge boost to the local economy, shining a light on the world-famous musical heritage of Liverpool.
