Liverpool diver reveals secrets of UK shipwrecks in new book
2 hours ago
Local Liverpool resident and amateur underwater archaeologist Duncan Ross has released his new book, Discovering Submerged Stories: A Personal Dive into Britain’s History, published by Dived Up Publications.
The book is the result of Ross’s passionate, ongoing project to respectfully investigate and document unique, submerged historical sites—from Victorian submarines and ancient forests to World War II wrecks.
Ross’s motivation is to ensure the historical narratives found at these places are kept alive through research and archaeological findings.

The connection to 11 November prompts reflection on periods of conflict, and the book features several World War I and World War II shipwrecks and a WWII plane wreck.
Veteran of The British Forces and adventurer Andy Torbet writes in his Foreword, “The book can inspire us to dive into our submerged past and return to tell our own tales.”
Discovering Submerged Stories blends passionate personal journey with essential insights, demonstrating how dedicated enthusiasts can make important contributions to the heritage sector.
