Liverpool ONE Christmas launch: Everything you need to know

Liverpool ONE is launching Christmas with a fun-filled festive party this Friday 11 November 2022… and you’re all invited!

Liverpool ONE officially launches Christmas tomorrow. The event promises to be the perfect way to kick-start the countdown to the big day, as we transform into a festive wonderland with a little help from fun festive character performances and live entertainment

You’ll find live music on Paradise Street to set the scene for Christmas shoppers, along with us at The Guide Liverpool who will be bringing a taste of panto magic to South John Street with re-enactments of pantomime classics showing in theatres throughout the city this festive season.

Liverpool ONE’s resident elves will be popping up to keep an eye on who’s naughty and who’s nice, and they might even ask for a selfie, so get your camera ready!

Other must-see acts include performances from the talented students from The Hammond Dance School, while a festive piano singalong will be led by Santa and Mrs Claus in The Galleria.

Alpine Village

This festive season you can visit the fantastic ski-holiday inspired alpine wonderland that’s taking over Chavasse Park with Liverpool ONE´s brand new Christmas tree at its heart. Presented by Bar Hütte – you can expect curling, shuffleboard, Prosecco pong, wreath making, food and drink stalls and festive family events, along with karaoke! 

Santa’s Grotto at John Lewis

John Lewis are partnering with LEGO to provide a magical in store Christmas experience for the whole family can enjoy! Meet Santa and feel the magic of Christmas come alive, take home a wonderful LEGO or LEGO DUPLO gift and buy a photo taken with Santa. You can even bring your dog to some of the experiences. (Just make sure they don’t bark at any reindeer!)

Price: £15 per child + accompanying adults (inc LEGO or LEGO DUPLO gift)

Every Sunday, they will run a quiet hour for those that need or prefer it.

Doggy Grotto at Alpine Village

Bring your furry friend to the Liverpool Alpine Village for an un-fur-gettable experience. A pup-sized hütte for the perfect doggy selfie, complete with ‘pawsecco’, and complimentary dog treats to get the whole gang in the festive spirit, including photo props. 

No booking needed, simply show up! You’d have to be barking to miss it.

The BIG Advent Giveaway 

The Big Advent Giveaway is back…Thousands of pounds worth of prizes to be won, with a winner everyday from 1-12 December! 

The Big Tree Giveaway

The Big Tree Giveaway is back this festive season so make sure you visit Liverpool ONE and pick up your very special tree for free!

Liverpool ONE have partnered once again with The Mersey Forest, and are giving away hundreds of free Norway Spruce traditional Christmas trees for you to plant at home. This important initiative is aimed at encouraging more green spaces as well as helping to tackle climate change and create more habitats for wildlife to thrive.

Trees are available on a first come first serve basis and can be collected from the Information Centre on Wall Street or Bean Coffee on Manesty’s Lane.

Pantos

Join Jay Hynd and Claire Simmo 4-8pm to enjoy performances from Unity Theatre – RAWD’S ‘Freezin’, 

We at The Guide Liverpool will be bringing a taste of panto magic to South John Street with re-enactments of pantomime classics showing in theatres throughout the city this festive season, during the launch on Friday 11 December. 

A Christmas Carol from Shakespeare North Playhouse, M&S Bank Arena – Aladdin and plenty of magical visitors throughout the evening.

Choirs at Liverpool ONE

Liverpool ONE is on the lookout for choirs and performers to celebrate the season! They would like to invite both professional and amateur performers to celebrate the festive season with them by showcasing their talents and raising money for their group or nominated charity.

If you’re a school or community choir, band or vocal group, you can get involved by applying here.
