Liverpool’s Jacaranda to host one of the biggest Record Store Day events in the UK
7 months ago
Record collectors across the north-west will be delighted to learn that one of the biggest Record Store Day events is being held in Liverpool next week.
Record Store Day is an annual event where independent record stores across the UK feature exclusive vinyl releases. You’ll find never-before-released albums, reissues of rare classics, and alternative versions of fan favourites. Liverpool’s own Jacaranda Record Store is gearing up to host one of the UK’s biggest Record Store Day events.
At 8:00 AM, Jacaranda Record Store on Slater Street will open its doors, allowing people to get their favourite Record Store Day finds. In the past, eager fans have lined up from the early hours of the morning to ensure they get exactly what they’re after.
Those who arrive early this year will receive more than just a guarantee they get their desired Record Store Day picks. Jacaranda Record Store is offering a limited number of goodie bags, with multiple options ranging from a number of test pressings of RSD releases to signed versions of RSD releases personally sent to the store by the artists.
Although the goodie bags are limited to early birds, everyone in the queue will enjoy complimentary hot food and drinks, with vegan options also on offer.
Enjoy the Record Store Day event music completely free of charge! It all begins with vinyl DJs setting the tone at 11:00 AM, followed by an outstanding lineup of then acts for Record Store Day starting at 1:00 PM and going on into the early hours of the morning. Artists performing include Michael Aldag, Ruby J, and The Kairos. Michael Aldag will also be signing copies of his debut album ‘sorry for everything’.
While Record Store Day is happening at The Jacaranda’s Slater Street site, they’re also hosting a Record Store Night party at Jacaranda Baltic in the Baltic Triangle. The night features a multi-act show headlined by Kyle Falconer of The View, with tickets priced at only £15.
Kevin McManus, Head of UNESCO Liverpool City of Music:
“In Liverpool we are incredibly lucky to have a range of brilliant indie record shops and we should celebrate them because, apart from the sheer joy they bring, they also play a vital role in making Liverpool the amazing music city that we are. On Record Store Day I would urge you to get yourself along to buy vinyl or enjoy a performance at The Jacaranda, or from any of the other local record stores taking part in Record Store Day!”
Jack Rowley, Marketing & PR at Jacaranda Record Store said:
“Michael Aldag, Ruby J and The Kairos are all big enough to sell out most venues in the city, heck, The Kairos were even playing the M&S Bank Arena last week! It is going to be so fun putting them on as free gigs in celebration of Record Store Day.”
